Minutes of Board Meeting In Memoriam The Board of Control of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association met at Stouffer's Inn, Louisville, on Friday, March 21, 1975. The meeting was called to order by President W. P. Wheeler at 9:00 A.M. with aU Board members, Commis- sioner J. B. Mansfield, Assistant Commissioners Tom Mills and Louis Stout present. Mr. Conley Manning was present representing the State De- partment of Education. The invocation was given by Frank Simpson. Arthur Hawkins moved, seconded by Louie Martin, that the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting be waived since the members of the Board had received copies of these minutes. The motion was carried unanimously. The Commissioner reported on the results of the recent balloting for Board membership for Sections 2 and 5. In Section 2 the votes were as follows: Denvil Barriger, Principal of Bowling Green High School, 22; Howard Gorrell, Principal of Auburn High School, 19. In Section 5, Gene Sell, Principal of Newport High School, 26; Rev. Edwin Heile, Principal of Covington Latin High School, 14. Commissioner Mansfield reported that the re- cent referendums presented to member schools at the request of the principals of the Big Eight Con- ference Schools failed to receive the necessary two-thirds votes to be adopted.
