MERIT BADGE INFORMATION

This Search and Rescue Camporee weekend will not be a merit badge give-a-way event. Each will have to complete the Merit Badge Workbook and submit it to the SAR Merit Badge Counseling Staff for review. More information on how to submit the work books will follow in a future Newsletter and at the camporee. Scouts will have the opportunity to gather information at the camporee to complete the workbook and will be able to do the hands-on requirements for the merit badge. Scouts will be divided into groups to visit each station. Each group will have unit leaders escorting the scouts to answer questions and to assist the scouts with their workbooks if needed. A list of items scouts should carry with them during the camporee will be forthcoming.

MERIT BADGE PREREQUISITE REQUIREMENT #5 Working with your counselor, become familiar with the Incident Command System. You may use any combination of resource materials, such as printed or online. Discuss with your counselor how the ICS compares with ’s patrol method.

Scouts should work with the unit leaders on this requirement prior to the camporee. The Scout will need to provide the following information to complete the IS-100.B course and receive your certificate:
