Dr. V.C.Vivekanandan MHRD IP Chair Professor Head-NCB Centre for IP Laws Director- Global Internet Governance & Advocacy (GIGA) Director- Legal Information Institute of India (www.liiofindia.org) 4 Message from Prof. Vijender Kumar NALSAR University of Law has proved to be the most preferred destination for aspiring lawyers from across the country. The University consistently attracts the best faculty and the crest of students for its Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral programmes. NALSAR has a rich tradition of pursuing excellence and has continually re-invented itself in terms of academic excellence. Students are exposed to research based academics and a host of sporting, cultural and organizational activities on its vibrant Campus. NALSAR has good research culture which is committed to the assessment of law in all its diversity. We have two, mutually supporting and overlapping perspectives, each of which draws upon a classic inclination in legal scholarship to investigate fresh possibilities for the place of law in the communities it serves. The primary perspective, rooted in our commitment to the philosophy of law, asks what is right and good in global justice, Public Law and Criminal Law. The second investigates the internal structure of law as it operates in practice, so as to picture the ways in which law fall short of what it promises, particularly in areas such as Competition Law, Banking and Finance, Property Law and Intellectual Property Rights. In this regards students of NALSAR explore the possibilities in which law might be part of the solution, and also endeavours to explore the possibilities in which law has become part of the problem. We highly value our partnership with Recruiters, Alumni and friends of NALSAR and remain committed to making your recruiting experience productive and positive.
