The right to keep and bear arms is one of our most important Constitutional rights. That’s why, as ’s strongest supporters of the Second Amendment, we support John Kasich for governor.

We are asking you to send this email to 10 other strong Second Amendment supporters so we can set the record straight.

We know that John Kasich will be a strong defender of our right to keep and bear arms. He is a gun owner himself, has been endorsed by the NRA in the past, has received financial contributions from the NRA in the past, and this year received a “B” rating from the NRA. He will be our ally in the Governor’s Office.

Ted Strickland likes to talk about how much he supports gun rights but why did he twice select running mates who are avowed enemies of gun owners?

His first running mate, Lee Fisher, was a board member of Handgun Control Inc.

His second running mate, Yvette McGee-Brown, admitted the day she was announced—while standing next to Strickland himself—that she opposed his views on guns. Yvette McGee-Brown was given an “F” rating by the NRA this year—an “F”!

Unlike , John Kasich put his beliefs into action by picking a running mate who shares his support for gun owners’ rights, Auditor of State Mary Taylor. Mary has an “A” rating from the NRA, she and her family are shooting enthusiasts, and she is an accomplished trap shooter herself.

John Kasich and Mary Taylor will make a strong, unified stand for gun owners in Ohio. No one can say the same thing about Ted Strickland and either of his anti-Second Amendment running mates.

A lot of political attacks are flying right now and they are coming from Ted Strickland and his allies. They will do anything to cling to their pro-bureaucrat, pro-tax, pro-spending agenda. Their shameless attacks against John Kasich and their attempts to distort his support for the Second Amendment are just another way they want to distract voters from Ted Strickland’s own failures.

Do not be fooled by these attacks. Ted Strickland has never had a unified Administration in support of the Second Amendment. John Kasich, however, is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and he and Mary Taylor will be a unified front in support of gun owners. As legislators who have earned the National Rifle Association’s highest ratings, we are willing to stake our reputations on it.

Sincerely,
