Divisions and Eligibility

A. Open Division – Open to the any Rider in good standing mounted on any Horse or .

B. Limited Open Division- Will work modified patterns in Reining and Working Cowhorse

Has never won any more than $50 or awards valued at more than $50 (separately or combined) in any Ranch Horse, Reining, Working Cowhorse or Roping event (separately or combined). Has earned less than 10 points (Open, Amateur, or Youth) in any Ranch Horse, Reining, Working Cowhorse or Roping event in any breed or ranch horse association. . C. Non Pro Division 1. Has not received payment, directly or indirectly for riding, training, assisting in training, showing horse(s) at any time during the past 5 years. Has not received payment directly or indirectly for instructing another person or conducted a seminar in riding, training, or showing a horse any time during the past five years

D. Limited Non Pro Division-Will work modified patterns in Reining and Working Cowhorse.

Eligible for Non-Pro Status and Limited Open Divisions

E. Youth Division - Less than 18 on January 1 of current year and currently enrolled in high school.

Equipment

A. Horses shall be shown in a stock . Silver equipment will not count over good clean, working equipment. Horses, of all ages, may be shown in a snaffle, bosal, or curb . Split reins shall be used with all bits except that a romal is acceptable with a curb bit. No more than one finger is allowed between non-romal reins with curb bit. No fingers between the reins are allowed with a romal. Chin straps are required and the curb chains or straps must be at least ½ inch in width and must lie flat against the horse’s chin. No wire curbs are permitted, regardless of the amount of padding or tape. Absolutely no iron will be permitted under the jaws.

B. Prohibited equipment includes tie downs, cavessons, gag bits, mechanical hackamores and running martingales. A judge may prohibit the use of any equipment deemed to be inhumane.

C. Attire: Riders shall wear protective headgear or western hats, long-sleeved shirts and western boots. Western boots shall include typical boots and lace-up ropers. All other footwear is prohibited. The use of and shall be optional.

Rules for Judging
