Format This is an inter club competition held annually between the Royal Dornoch, Tain, Brora, Golspie and Invergordon Clubs (host club to organise). Team members must be full members of the club they are representing. It is a scratch competition and each club will comprise a team of 7 Gents or Boys 2 singles matches will be played each day (Saturday & Sunday on the 2 nd weekend in May) between the clubs and the host club plays in all four sessions and in Match 1 on Sunday morning There is a rotation of sessions in which clubs play the triple match. The order of Sunday afternoon matches indicates the order of missing a session. The team with the highest number of games won will receive the Dornoch Firth Trophy in the event of a tie, the match between the teams that are tied will decide the trophy
Conditions
1. Method of Entry
The host club (changes annually on a five year rota) will send a letter of invite to the other clubs and each club will post a notice asking for entries. Teams are requested to confirm their intention to participate by informing the host club no later than 14 days prior to the event..
2. Intention to Play Clubs are asked to nominate a captain who will be responsible for the team order of play. The order of play should be given to the starter no later than 15 minutes before the scheduled start time of the first match. The team should arrive at the host club a quarter of an hour before the first tee time.
3. Suspension/Abandonment of Play
Play will be abandoned if course deemed unplayable. The competition will then usually be rescheduled at a later date.
4. Disputes
Any dispute which cannot be resolved by the competitors should be brought to the attention of the Secretary or Captain ASAP. If they are unavailable, competitors should approach the Professional.
5. Open to Gents and Boys who hold a competition handicap.
6. Trophy to be awarded at the prizegiving on the day after the conclusion of play.
