I. Market Potential

Below you can find the key Markets in Saudi-Arabia for the members of Agoria’s International Business Development Clubs participating to the mission, namely the Carbon Energy Club (Oil, Gas & Energy), the Medical Technology Club (Medical Market : Hospitals & Labs) and the Infrastructure Club (Urban Development Projects) and the Sports Technology Club (Sports Infrastructure)<;

A. Oil, Gas & Energy Oman’s oil and gas sector is expected to benefit from more than $50bn of investment over the next 10 years as the sultanate aims to maintain crude output levels and boost gas production. The planned projects includes the recently started $15bn-20bn Khazzan tight gas project being carried out by the UK’s BP, three major oil field developments by state-owned Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and the of a third oil refinery. The developments by PDO tie-in with its in-country value strategy to increase the number of skilled Omanis employed by contractors and to double spending on domestic services and goods by 2020. PDO plans to spend $30bn over the next 10 years to maintain its current levels of oil production.

Oman is also planning to construct an estimated $6bn refinery at the central coastal port of Duqm. The 230,000 b/d facility, along with a petrochemicals complex, is expected to be completed by 2017. The project is a joint venture between state-owned Oman Oil Company and Abu Dhabi’s International Petroleum Investment Company (Ipic).

B. Infrastructure and Sports Infrastructure Market

Some huge ‘new city’ – infrastructure projects are ongoing , including : Prince Abdulaziz Bin Mousaed Economi City, Knowledge Economic City, King Abdullah Economic City, Jazan Economic City. Also, Saudi Arabia will build a new city for 600,000 people near Makkah. Named Makkah Gate, the residential and administrative city will be developed under a public-private partnership on the Makkah- Highway with 45 districts. Spanning an area of 83m sqm, the project will include educational institutions, government offices, shopping centres, housing units and a national park. Also, Saudi Arabia has plans to substantially expand and improve its sports infrastructure in different areas. And finally, there are very major investments planned to expand the Duqm Area, with involvement of the Port of Antwerp International & Rent a Port.

C. Medical Market

Oman's Health's Vision-2050 aims at setting up 10,000 health centres to meet increasing demand from its growing population and expanded urbanisation. Operating under the tag "Quality Care, Sustainable Health", the Oman Health Vision-2050 seeks to outline several ambitious goals for the nation's healthcare system and reflects the strong political commitment and top priority accorded to the health and education sector. As of now, Oman has 236 government healthcare facilities, including hospitals and health centres, for the provision of healthcare services to the residents of the Sultanate. The ministry is all set to complete the development of 250 health centres by the end of the current Five Year Plan (2011-2015). Moreover, work has been in progress to upgrade many existing hospitals and establish new ones. The ministry is developing 32 new health centres across the country, in addition to 10 big hospitals. This includes two 150- bedded hospitals, which will be built in South Sharqiyah and Al Batinah governorates.

We have indeed finalized three contracts for the ports of Jeddah, Dammam and Jazan with for each contract the delivery and installation of two Vigan ship unloaders. The final user is “Grain Silo and Flour Mill Organization” (GSFMO) belonging to the public sector. GSFMO has currently two important projects for Vigan in 2014 and 2015 for the ports of Duba and Rabig (north of Jeddah).
