IN BETWEEN DAYS an asymmetrical shawl from LES TRICOTEURS VOLANTS

In Between Days is an asymmetrical shawl knitted from the top down. Its shape results from the placement and frequency of the increases, accentuated by a short row eyelet section and a knit-on border with decreases. The name comes from one of my favourite songs by the British band The Cure.

NOTES In order to add some texture to the stripes or garter ridges , you may want to use a thicker yarn while those sections (as I did with Ysolda's Blend n°1). For the short row section, I chose to “wrap and turn”, but you can use any method you like. ABBREVIATIONS k: knit. k2tog: knit two stitches together. M: marker. M1L: make one left- leaning . Repeat this row until all the body stitches are bound off, then bind off the border stitches on a WS row.

FINISHING Soak your shawl for about twenty minutes in slightly tepid water with mild soap, then squeeze gently and roll it in a clean towel to squeeze out excess water. Lay flat on appropriate surface and block your shawl. Let dry, unpin, weave in ends and wear proudly.
