Rules and Regulations

1 All horses entered in Ring 1 must be registered with the AHSA Ltd. All horses entered in Ring 2 must be registered with relevant breed society. 2 All entries via Nominate 3 Membership class discounts only apply to full members (those that have paid a full or half year membership) 4 All competitors must be members of VADOBA Inc, Equestrian Australia or pay the $15 Show Insurance 5 Stables to be booked directly through Werribee Park Equestrian Centre 6 There will be no refund of entry monies under any circumstances 7 VADOBA will not accept any abusive language or bad behavior from any person on the showgrounds. Any instance of bad behavior or abuse should be reported to the show secretary’s office immediately. Offenders will be dealt with by the discretion of the committee 8 VADOBA reserves the right to alter/combine/add or delete any classes 9 VADOBA can change the running order or days of classes if thought essential prior to the show – all exhibitors will be notified 10 Exhibitors enter entirely at their own risk. If any exhibit, whilst on the showgrounds, shall cause or be the cause of injury or damage to any other exhibit, exhibitor or the general public, the owner of such animal shall indemnify the club, its officials and members, from and against all damages, costs, claims, expenses or liabilities incurred 11 All competitors compete at their own risk 12 Personal Liability – it is advised that all competitors/strappers/handlers ensure they have adequate Personal Liability insurance for this event 13 No protest shall be entertained, unless in writing and lodged with the show secretary, within 1 hour of the judgement in dispute, and accompanied by a $200 fee, which will be forfeited should the complaint be thought frivolous. All decisions of the disputes panel shall be final and binding 14 The judge’s decision is binding 15 This is a Championship Show – every class will offer Champion/Reserve Champion and Top 5 16 Membership discounts are available in all classes to current members only. A membership form is available with this program 17 It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure they are at the ring ready for their class 5 minutes before the start time. Rings will not allow horses to enter the ring late unless horse has been marshalled and is in another ring. Rings WILL NOT be held for owners/handlers/riders not having horses at the ring and ready on time 18 Dogs must be on a leash at all times and under control 19 The age of a horse is taken from the 01 August 20 Non Pro classes – The definition of a Non Pro for the VADOBA show is a person who, regardless of his/her equestrian skills and/or accomplishments, in the past three years has not directly or indirectly accepted payment, goods or money, for services usually provided by a professional in the areas of breaking/riding / training / schooling / or showing in hand or under saddle. 21 All horses must be kept under control at all times. Any horse that is deemed out of control or dangerous will be excused from the ring 22 To be eligible to compete, all exhibits must not, in the opinion of the judge, exhibit any lameness. In all events, the judge’s decision is final

Definitions for the purpose of Home Produced.

Professional: A person who derives an income from or receives some form of remuneration for the production of show horses.

Production: The training, conditioning and/or exhibition of show horses.

Producer: A person involved in the training, conditioning and/or exhibition of show horses.

Competitor: The rider or handler presenting the horse in the competition arena.

Immediate family: Grandparents, parents, parents’ partners, husband/wife/partners, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, step grandparents, step parents, step brothers/sisters, legal guardians and step children.

Horse: Horse or pony regardless of height.

Resident: Stabled or paddocked in a given location for a period of time greater than 24 hours, for purposes other than attending a competition event, veterinary care, DIY agistment or stud work.

Home Produced These classes are for Home Produced led or ridden stallions, mares and geldings where the handler/rider/horse meets criteria for being Home Produced. Home Produced classes rely on the integrity and goodwill of exhibitors to adhere to eligibility.

Home Produced Eligibility Rules:

a) Riders, handlers and owners must be financial members of VADOBA and horses must be AHSA registered as being owned or leased by the competitor or an immediate family member. b) Horses must not have been resident in a professional producer’s/trainer’s stables for a period of at least three months prior to the competition except on a DIY agistment basis or at stud. c) Any horse competing in a Home Produced class must have received its primary care, training and preparation from the competitor or a member of their immediate family for a period of at least three months prior to the competition. Having tuition and attending clinics is permitted.
