Egaleo Fc S.S. Lazio PRESS KITS Group stage - Group E - Matchday 4 Thursday, 2 December 2004 - 21:45 (local time) Georgios Kamaras - Athens (Rizoupoli) EGALEO FC S.S. LAZIO MATCH OFFICIALS Referee Bertrand Layec (FRA) Assistant referees Jean-Paul Harribey (FRA), Lionel Dagorne (FRA) Fourth official Olivier Thual (FRA) UEFA delegate Paul Krähenbühl (SUI) MATCH BACKGROUND Lazio need to make experience count Egaleo FC are one of three teams in the competition who are new to UEFA club competitions this season, and, after two defeats in two group games, the Greek side now face daunting opposition in the form of S.S. Lazio. First goal sought The Greeks will be anxious not only to gain their first points in group competition, but also score their first goals. Egaleo lost their opening game 1-0 at home to Middlesbrough FC before a Saša Ilic hat-trick sent them to a 4-0 defeat at FK Partizan. But they did well to reach the group stage by eliminating the highly- rated Turkish club Gençlerbirligi SK and will seek to frustrate their Italian opponents who expect to qualify. Panionios humbled Lazio have won both their previous ties against Greek clubs and remain unbeaten in Greece without conceding a goal. In the quarter final of the 1989/99 UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, Lazio visited Panionios NFC and two goals from Dejan Stankovic and other strikes from Marcelo Salas and Pavel Nedved took the Italians to a 4-0 win. Lazio completed their good work with a 3-0 home win in the return, and went on to win the competition with a 2-1 success against RCD Mallorca in the last ever Cup Winners’ Cup final at Villa Park, Birmingham. Xanthi defeated Four years later, in the first round of the 2002/03 UEFA Cup, Lazio played Greek newcomers Xanthi FC, who were in their first European campaign. Lazio won at the Stadio Olympico with goals from Christian Manfredini, Claudio López, Simone Inzaghi and César for another 4-0 success, before playing out a 0-0 draw in the return leg. So in four matches against Greek opposition, Lazio have yet to concede a goal and have scored eleven times in assembling a record of three wins and a draw in four games. 1/8 16:10:10 uefa.com Matchday 4 - Group E - Thursday, 2 December 2004 - PRESS KITS EGALEO-LAZIO PLAYERS PROFILES Egaleo FC Goalkeepers No Name Nat. Olimpico Stadium, Rome 21/10/2004 21:00:00 (Local Time) UEFA Cup Group E, Matchday 1 S.S. Lazio v Villarreal CF MATCH OFFICIALS Referee Michael Weiner (GER) Assistant Referee Markus Scheibel (GER) Assistant Referee Olaf Blumenstein (GER) Fourth Referee Stefan Trautmann (GER) UEFA Delegate Bernard Carrel (SUI) Referee Observer Muhittin Bosat (TUR) Reporter Francesco Corda (ITA) MATCH BACKGROUND Though Italian and Spanish clubs have met on a regular basis in UEFA club competitions since 1955, it is the first time that both S.S. Lazio and Villarreal CF have met each other. Vast experience A Spanish club provided the opposition for Lazio’s finest achievement, when, coached by Sven-Göran Eriksson, they won the last UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1998/99 with a 2-1 win over RCD Mallorca at Villa Park. This will be the 12th game between Lazio and Spanish clubs in UEFA club competitions and Lazio have four wins, five defeats and two draws from the previous matches. The 2003/04 Coppa Italia winners have made a resolute start to this season’s campaign with two 3-0 wins over Ukrainian club FC Metalurh Donetsk to reach the group stage. Strong impression Villarreal made a strong impression in last season’s UEFA Cup, reaching the semi-finals before losing to the eventual winners Valencia CF 1-0 on aggregate with only a Mista penalty separating the sides. On their way to the latter stages, Villarreal met AS Roma in the fourth round winning 3-2 on aggregate after Sonny Anderson won the tie with a goal in a 2-1 defeat at the Stadio Olimpico.

  • Juventus E Inter Già Con Un Piede in Champions League

Club Brugge KV v SK Rapid Wien PRESS KIT Jan Breydel, Bruges Wednesday, 2 November 2005 - 20:45 CET Group A - Matchday 4 When the teams met on 18 October at SK Rapid Wien's Ernst Happel stadium, a 75th- minute strike from Boško Balaban was enough to ensure Club Brugge KV victory. It meant the Belgian champions collected their first points in Group A, and left their Austrian counterparts still searching for a first-ever win in the UEFA Champions League. The one goal scored on Matchday 3 went against the trend of previous matches between the teams, with their two previous ties in UEFA club competition producing a hatful of goals. Rapid unbeaten in Bruges •The Austrian side are unbeaten in their two previous trips to Club Brugge having left Belgium with a draw and a win. Overall, their four matches have produced 23 goals. First meeting •Thirteen of them were scored in their first meeting in the first round of the 1986/87 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. Rapid edged a thrilling first leg 4-3 at home as goals from Reinhard Kienast (2), Karl Brauneder and Gerald Willfurth cancelled out Ronny Rosenthal's opener. What should have been a comfortable first-leg victory from that point turned out to be anything but, as Luc Beyens and Dennis van Wijk struck for Club Brugge to narrow the lead and ensure a nervous finale. •In the return leg at the Jan Breydelstadion in Bruges, Kenneth Brylle Larsen and Rosenthal gave the home side the lead in the tie, but Rapid hit back immediately with goals from current Croatia coach Zlatko Kranjcar, Rudolf Weinhofer and Sulejman Halilovic to take control at 3-2.

Mr Caspar Glyn QC (instructed by Mishcon de Reya LLP ) for the Defendant. Judgment Mrs Justice Whipple: I. Introduction 1 The Claimant was the Director of Football of the Defendant football club from 10 July 2014 until his dismissal on 26 January 2015. The Claimant claims the sums specified in his contract of employment (the “Contract”) as falling due on termination without notice. In the alternative, he claims damages for wrongful termination. He also claims for salary, expenses and accrued holiday pay due at the date of dismissal. 2 The Defendant denies the claim. The Defendant contends that it was entitled to dismiss the Claimant summarily. The Defendant wrote to the Claimant on 26 January 2015 saying he was dismissed with immediate effect “ as a consequence of serious misconduct by you that have brought the Club into an unbearable situation, as well as the breaking by you of the good faith principle underlying the employment contract” . No explanation was given in that letter or at that time. 3 The Defendant now contends that its reason for dismissing the Claimant, at that time, was the discovery of the Claimant's overspending on players and failure to admit to that overspending when questioned.

  • Giampiero Pinzi, “Profumi” Di Vertice
