UCC has revamped its sports scholarship scheme for 2019/20. The scholarships provided will now be divided up into bronze, silver and gold levels with different benefits and requirements at each level. This allows for more diversity in the scholarships provided and can allow those who may not play at a national level but do have potential, to access assistance upon starting in UCC. Successful applicants will be expected to take part in UCC club activities of their chosen sport.

20 21 AWARDS AWARDS Club Awards Sport Awards The annual Club Awards ceremony was held on the 28th March 2019 at the Clubs and Societies Ball in The annual Sport Star Awards are sponsored and hosted each year by The River Lee Hotel. This year saw the 36th the Rochestown Park Hotel. These awards are given out every year to recognise the work and dedication gathering of staff, students and guests from across UCC to witness the recognition of exceptional sporting talent seen across all clubs and by club persons throughout the year. These awards are given out for a variety within UCC’s clubs. The Sport Star Awards are used to recognise athletes who have made significant contributions of different events and categories and recognise clubs more so for their participation and management on the field of play and through competition.
