European Masters Athletics Indoor Championships, Outdoor 5km - Sat. 2nd Apr. Ancona, (Tue. 29th Mar. to Sun. 3rd Apr.) The course was a 500m street circuit of 10 laps. Stuart Le Noury scored an easy win in the second race in the Sarnia th Walking Clubs Heritage Group Championships over a distance of 10 South Yorkshire League #2, Millhouses Park (Tue. 26 Apr.) kilometres reports Rob Elliott. Leading from start to finish on a day Tony Bell was first away (5km), but with the RWA 20km still in his legs that started out warm and got progressively colder as the race went was never on terms with the rest of the field, reports Brian Adams. on, he finished in a time of 55:19, six minutes ahead of Rob Elliott. As the other walkers started Lucy Walker found herself in the lead Third place went to Phil Lockwood. but being chased down by a group consisting of Kai Cundey, Tony Leading woman Olga Sinkevica, finished in 69:45, very close to her (who was a lap behind) and Luca Cundey, who was forcing the pace., personal best time and only strides behind the fourth man home. She but Lucy hung on to win by seven seconds. Luca set off 14 seconds finished well clear of the other women, with Marie Macdonald taking ahead of the new RWA U13 girls champion Lara MacColl, despite her second place and Jayne Le Noury third. best efforts could not close the gap and remained 14 seconds behind at the end. A good race from Jayne gave her first place in the handicapped section from Mick Le Sauvage in second and Olga Sinkevica in third. Adrian Edwards easily won the scratch race, coming in over 20 minutes ahead of second place. Joe Hardy won a closely
