th Induction of Eddie Stevens our newest Rotarian on Tuesday 5 February 2019

We are excited to have inducted Eddie Stevens as our newest Rotarian. Welcome Eddie! We have known you on the side-lines of our Club activities and we are proud to have you as an official member now!!

Sponsored, and also to be mentored, by PP Peter Gray we are certain that you will be a great asset to our Club and Rotary International and wish you a long and fruitful time in our midst.

Business meeting 12th February

It is noteworthy to mention that, although RI doesn’t require our attendance figures submitted as before, we had an 89% attendance at the Business meeting.

This figure included Kirti Patel who returned from a trip to India and came almost directly to the meeting to present some banners to President Susan We look forward to hearing more about his experiences soon and more importantly, joining a Friendship Exchange to India that is planned for the near future. What a trip that will be!! Keep your eyes and ears open for that one as it will be a popular exchange.

Talking attendance and members - Manu Choudree shared this picture of his gorgeous two children. Rose-Anne will be 6 years on the 16th April – how she has grown! - And little Antonio is now a whopping 8 months old. Lovely to see Antonio looking so well and thriving

Seen Out & About….. RC of Gordon’s Bay – see on the Right Koos Burger, Rotarian of the Rotary Club Cape of Good Hope and resident Camp Manager of Rotary Youth Camps Glencairn gave a presentation about the Rotary Labyrinth. He brought a quilt of the plan of the labyrinth, which is a real piece of art

RC of – See above left Koos Burger did a presentation with Hein Wolvaardt on the RC of Cape Town’s ‘Glencairn Youth Camp’ project Koos Burger was a great speaker and ambassador not only for the Rotary Youth Camp, which was his topic as guest speaker at Gordon's Bay Rotary Club, but also as a member of our Club!! Well done Koos

FISH HOEK LIONS TEA PARTY - SATURDAY 16 FEBRUARY The Rotary Club Cape of Good Hope ladies pulled out all the stops and supported the Lions' fundraiser Tea Party This was an example of working partnerships Thanks to Pres Susan O Hagan Ward, Gillian Anderson, Maughreen Ladbrook, Bev Frieslich, Christine Mueller and Lizelle Coombs for attending and both Jean Smythe and Ursula for their sponsorship Each lady did something towards the table and we had a good time. The beautiful flowers sponsored by Lizelle went home with Maughreen. Thank you all the ladies for your support. A shout out to Sue Kinnell, President of the Fish Hoek Lions for organising this successful event

In reply, she wrote: Hi Susan, On behalf of Fish Hoek Lions Club I want to thank Rotary Cape of Good Hope for joining us at our chariTEA fundraiser yesterday, for hosting a table and joining in the fun. It’s always a joy to me when Lions and Rotary can work together to make things happen and you helped us do just that. Please pass on our appreciation your members. Kind regards
