The Minister of Foreign Affairs of , Dato’ Saifuddin Abdullah led the Malaysian delegation to the 16th Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Ministerial Meeting held in Doha, Qatar on 1 May 2019. With the theme “Partners for Progress”, ACD Ministers adopted the Doha Declaration that welcomed the proposal submitted by the State of Qatar to host the Third Summit of Asia Cooperation Dialogue in 2020. While attending the 16th ACD, the Minister of Foreign Affairs undertook an official visit to Qatar until 2 May 2019.

Working visit of YB Minister of Education, YB Dr. to the State of Qatar on 20-23 April 2019

WIEF Team led by YABhg Tun Musa Hitam as Chairman of World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) was in Qatar on 7 to 10 April 2019 to have a session with HE Ali Al Kuwari, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Qatar. Meanwhile, Members of Dewan Negara attended the 140th Assembly of the Inter- Parliamentary Union (IPU) hosted by the State of Qatar on 6 to 11 April 2019.

During YB FM’s official visit to the State of Qatar, he had an audience with HH Sheikh Tamim bin

Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, courtesy calls on HE Dr. Khalid Al Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, HE Sheikh Mohamad bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and visit to Georgetown University.

The Minister of Entrepreneur Development of Malaysia, YB Datuk Seri Redzuan Yusof was in

Qatar for a working visit from 22 to 24 June 2019.

The Minister was accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development.

During the visit, YB MED paid a courtesy call on HE Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Qatar and had a meeting with HE Jassim Al Sulaiti, Minister of Transport, Qatar.

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and His Excellency Eng. Abdullah Hamad Al Attiyah, CEO of Qatari Diar.

PMRM’S SESSIONS

th To date, Malawakil Doha has organised 14 PMRM sessions with Malaysian communities in Qatar

A session between Malaysian diaspora and YB Dr. Maszlee Malik, Minister of Education on 20 April 2019 at Malaysian Embassy, Doha, Qatar.

On 1 May 2019, YB Dato’ Saifuddin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and wife had a

session with Malaysian Diaspora at Four Seasons Hotel, Doha. The event was attended by approximately 150 Malaysian

Diaspora. YB Minister took the opportunity to share on Malaysia’s foreign policy, the rome statute issue and also addressed concerns raised about Talentcorp Programme.

PMRM’S SESSIONS

Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebration co-hosted

with Malaysian Association in Qatar (MAQ) was held at Holiday Villa Hotel on 14 June 2019

Malaysian Embassy partnered with MAQ organised a “Malaysian Food Bazaar - Pasar Malam” on 5

April 2019. The event is happening once a month except in Summer. Food lovers attended the event to taste the sumptuous and popular Malaysian cuisine. The popular Malaysian signature Nasi Lemak coconut flavoured fragrant rice served with chicken rendang, sambal and boiled egg is the top favourite, alongside the Malaysian dishes such as laksa, chicken curry, satay etc.

PERWAKILAN’S ACTIVITIES

'Coffee Morning' in conjunction with Mrs. Zuera's farewell was held at the Santa Monica Breakfast Club, Grand Hyatt Hotel. Mrs. Zuera's has been with PERWAKILAN since 2005.

Luncheon with YBhg. Datin Norlin Shamsul Bahri, Patron of PERWAKILAN was held on 1 May 2019 at Opal by Ramsay, St Regis Hotel.

ASSISTANCE ABROAD

Issuance of Emergency Certificate (Loss of Travel Document / Passport)

It is advisable that you keep a photocopy of your passport at all times to facilitate you, if you happen to lose your passport abroad. In cases where, under any circumstances your travel document / passport is lost while abroad, these are the steps to follow:

Report the loss of travel document at the nearest police station.

Apply for an Emergency Certificate at the nearest Malaysian Mission (Applicants has to come personally) to the Embassy. Documents required to be submitted are as follows:  A copy of the police report.  Other documents that can be used as proof of citizenship.

 Address, telephone numbers and email address of Malaysian Missions are available under the topic Malaysia’s Mission Worldwide.

An Emergency Certificate will be issued by the Mission which would enable the person to travel home to Malaysia (one way trip)
