The nearest airport is “Nikola Tesla”. Flights with (www.jatlondon.com) from London Heathrow, Wizz Air (www.wizzair.com) from London Gatwick and German Wings from London Stanstead.

The Airport is approximately 20km northwest of Belgrade City Centre, bus transfer is available. Mini Bus line A1- direction A from the airport to (Hotel) terminal. Buses leave every hour on the hour, between 0700 and 2200, stopping at Fontana in central Novi Beograd and central railway station, the fare is around 200 dinars (2euros) and payable to the driver. Return buses leave every hour on the hour, from Slavija Hotel terminal, from 0500 to 2100, the journey takes approximately 30 mins.

There is a local bus line 72, every 30 mins, this goes to Zelenic Venac, tickets can be bought at newstands which are cheaper than on the bus, this journey takes longer and stops more.

Taxis are available, but are more expensive costing about £13 and taking around 20 minutes. Watch out for taxi scammers – only take the official taxis with TX on the number plate and check that the cab has a working meter.

Car rentals are available in the terminal. www.travelserbia.info is a useful web site.

The address of the Belgrade site is indicated as Ada Ciganlija «Street 10». A GPS navigation system will not respond to that. It is recommended to enter the following street: Radnicka 1 (lowest number) 11030 Belgrade (it is the closest street nearby the actual compound).

For vehicles without parking pass and visitors there is public parking located on other side of Ada Ciganlija, right across the Regatta Center. Daily cost is around 2 euro.

Ada Ciganlija Regatta course is situated on Lake which is located in the heart of Belgrade, 5km from the city centre. Ada Ciganlija is a , artificially turned into a peninsula. The lake is 3000m long and 250m wide. The course is situated in a southwest- northeast direction.

The rowing lake “Ada Ciganlija” (Sava Lake) is about 4km west of downtown Belgrade. The regatta is on the south side of the lake. It has recreational facilities on both sides of the lake- playgrounds and beach cafes, there is also a biking road around it. If traveling by car head west on E763 (19 & 22) until venue is signposted.

What to do: The old town is easily covered on foot and essentially covers Belgrade’s historic core, with museums and theatres and there are many hotels and restaurants and cafes in this area. Close by is the bohemian quarter of Skadarlija, with cobbled streets and restaurants serving national cuisine. Web site: www.serbia.travel/ or www.tripadvisor.com. Don’t miss St Sava Cathedral which has been under construction, on and off, since 1935, or the , home of the Serbian royal family.
