Based on the bestselling books Défense d’entrer! (Do Not Enter!) with over 350,000 copies sold in Canada and Europe

Charlie is an 11-year-old pre-teen just like any other. Raised in a close-knit family, Charlie’s mother is entirely unlike other mothers: she hears and sees everything! In addition to his all- seeing and hearing mother, Charlie has an annoying stepsister, energysucking younger brother and sister who are twins, and a father who’s easygoing enough, but withdrawn and often working. Oh, and we mustn’t forget Shivers, Charlie’s Old English Sheepdog, and most trustworthy friend and confidant. In short, a normal enough family that loves each other – each member with their own personality and foibles… and the occasional temper!

It all begins when Charlie is grounded in his room and decides to start writing in a notebook (NOT a diary!) to keep track of the injustices he experiences with his family. He eventually writes about everything, from his daily life at school with his friends, to his crazy life at home with his family.

FORMAT 23 ! Short Animated Film | 1 x 15

Directed by Frederic Back Winner of the Academy Award® for Best Animated Short Film (1982)

In this charming tale tinged with nostalgia, Frédéric Back takes us back to rich traditions swept aside by the relentless forces of progress and urbanization. CRAC! is the sound of a falling tree, chopped down to make the chair. It’s the sound of the chair as it rocks. It’s also the sound of the rift in our lives when change happens too quickly. CRAC! is Frédéric Back’s tribute to , his adoptive home, and to the culture of his wife and children. The film took the world by storm, earning a first Oscar for Back and Radio-Canada in 1982.

ANIMATION 24 THE MAN WHO PLANTED TREES Mid-Length Animation Film | 1 x 30

Written by Jean Giono | Directed by Frédéric Back French Narrator: Philippe Noiret | English Narrator: Christopher Plummer Winner of the Academy Award® for Best Animated Short Film (1988) In competition for the Palme D’Or for Best Short Film at the 1987 Cannes Film Festival

Frédéric Back’s award-winning 1987 film is an adaptation of The Man Who Planted Trees (L’homme qui plantait des arbres), a short story published in 1953 by French author Jean Giono.

An allegorical tale, it tells the story of a shepherd, Elzéard Bouffier, and his single-handed effort to re-forest a desolate valley in the foothills of the French Alps, one tree at a time, over a period of thirty years. His relentless and solitary work is not even interrupted by two world wars. Gradually, his persistence pays off and the region is transformed. The beauty and fluidity of Back’s drawings exquisitely illustrate the great change that one individual can make. Back intuitively captured Giono’s story, which is as much about the power and endurance of faith as it is about planting trees.

His sumptuous and flowing style perfectly translates the timeless and unforgettable tale that is still so relevant today.
