WHDT (channel 9) is the oldest high definition television station in the United States. Broadcasting from Wellington, Florida,b WHDT serves the Miami and West Palm Beach -Fort Lauderdale,West Palm Beach-Fort Pierce and Naples-Fort Myers Florida television markets. Covering eight counties in South Florida, WHDT has a larger reach than any tele- vision station in the state. It is one of the largest independently-owned TV stations in the world.
WHDT offers a myriad of original high definition programming that is available for syndication, includ- ing local and national news, politics, auto- motive news and motorsports, documentaries, live cover- age of area equestrian sports, entertainment shows and feature films. The station maintains a full HD schedule, including paid programming.
WHDT is operated by WHDT World Television Service, a unit of Marksteiner AG, which also oper- ates TV station WHDT (channel 3) in Boston. Our principle office and main studios are located in the Government Center district in downtown Boston, with additional production and news gathering facilities in S. Florida, Chicago, Washington D.C., Los Angeles and Sacramento, California.
