Message From The President Compatriots: I am excited about the next two years for Alexander Hamilton! We started this year with a big bang! Kent Troy brought us a donation of books that came from the military library of civil war General Robert H. Hall. These books were specifically donated for our chapter members. They are being sold to our members at 25% of resell value. This makes the books affordable to our members and at the same time raises some money for the chapter. At our first meeting of the year we raised $310! I am proud to announce my “President’s Initiative.” The chapter will take on at least one service project each year during my term as president. I have two requirements when choosing the project. It must benefit the community and it must have an end date. Some examples of what this project could be include: having a revolutionary war book drive for an elementary school, clean the grave markers of three actual sons whose fathers were in the American Revolution, or move the Washington State Liberty Bell to a more prominent location. But the project I have chosen is to redesign and implement a Revolutionary War exhibit at the Veteran’s Museum located in Chehalis. At our January meeting we had a brain storming session about what the exhibit might include. I think this will be a great project to benefit the community while at the same time being a lot of fun for our members! We have a bright future ahead of us. Together we can do great things! Respectfully submitted, Viren Lemmer, President, Alexander Hamilton Chapter, Washington Society, Sons of the American Revolution Page 2 For corrections plase contact the Editor Official Publication of the Alexander Hamilton Chapter, WA Sons of the American Revolution Vol 5 Issue 1 – Jan 2019 How The Original 13 Colonies Were Named 1.
