NOTICE This is for the information of the Advocates, litigants and general public. In continuation to the earlier instructions dated 16.03.2020 issued with regard to precautionary measures in wake of pandemic due to outbreak ofNovel Coronavirus (COVID-19), thefollowing decision has been taken by the Hon’ble High Court, till further orders 1. All ordinary and regular cases shown in the Cause List shall not be taken up and will be adjourned for four weeks. The next date shall be shown on the official website of the High Court, except for the cases as mentioned in Para No. 1 of the Order/Notice dated 16.03.2020, in which earlier date will be given on special mentioning by the respective Bench where the case is listed. 2. The following category of the cases have been identified. The mentioning of the respective category of cases shall be made before the Bench specified against the said category as under:- Sr. Category of Cases Bench No. 1. Writ Matters of Hon’ble Division Bench and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Jaswant Singh remaining Civil Matters of Hon’ble Division Bench 6. Civil Matters of Single Bench Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajan Gupta 7. Writ Matters of Single Bench & any other Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ajay Tewari categories not specified above. 3. In case any Hon’ble Judge as mentioned above is not holding the Court, the mentioning of the subject matter given against His Lordship’s name will be made before the Hon’ble Judge next in the serial number. In case, the Hon’ble Judge mentioned at Sr. No. 7 is not holding the Court, the mentioning of His Lordship’s subject matter will be made before the Hon’ble Judge mentioned at Sr. No. 6. 4. To regulate the entry of the litigants, it is reiterated that the entry of litigants is prohibited in the High Court, except in cases of personal appearance specifically ordered by the Court. 5. The Advocates are requested to ensure that only one lawyer per case attends the hearing, except in case of ld. Senior Advocate who may be assisted by one assisting counsel. 6. The lawyers appearing for mentioning before particular Bench are requested to appear in batches of five. 7. The entry of law interns is also restricted for the time being. BY ORDERS OF HON’BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE Sd/- Registrar General 18.03.2020 NOTICE This is for the information of the Advocates, litigants and general public that the following decision has been taken by the Hon’ble High Court, till further orders. 1. All anticipatory bails/Habeas Corpus/Protection Matters will be listed as per the prevalent filing system. In case of urgency the matter will be listed only by mentioning. 2. All other fresh Criminal Matters shall be listed by mentioning only. 3. All fresh Civil Matters will be listed by mentioning only. 4. All ordinary/regular list cases will be adjourned. 5. In case of urgency in ordinary list mentioning will be made before the respective Bench and accordingly case will be posted in urgent on next day or thereafter. However, in case of the States/U.T./Union of India an advance notice of mentioning has to be made by the counsel to the respective representative of the State/U.T./Government of India. 6. Bail/suspension of bail matters will be adjourned for short dates preferably within two to three weeks. 7. It is decided to restrict the entry to the High Court Premises only through Gate No. 1 and 2 for all the Advocates/litigants etc. 8. Gate Pass for the litigants will be restricted and will be permitted where there is an order of personal appearance. 9. As suggested by the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association, the Bar Rooms, entry through Gate No. 4 and all canteens shall remain closed, till further orders. 10. The Mediation and Conciliation Centre and LokAdalat shall also remain closed. 11. Those who are not directly involved/associated with a matter listed before this Court, shall not be permitted to enter the Court Premises, till further orders. 12. Henceforth, the ordinary and regular cases mentioned in the Cause List of each Bench shall be adjourned by the respective Reader/Court Secretary/Special Secretary until or unless there is a specific mentioning of a particular case to be taken up for hearing by the learned counsel representing the respective parties. The adjourned date will be communicated through SMS on the registered Mobile Number of the counsels. 13. Medical Teams with Thermal Guns shall be deployed on each entry gate of this Court to check the body temperature of every entrant on said gates. In case, someone is found to have fever, immediate follow up action including the restricting of entry of such person shall be taken up by the Medical Teams stationed at such entry point. 14. All concerned are requested to avoid human contact with others. Not to form gatherings anywhere and to leave the Court Premises immediately after their work is over. 15. The Advocates are also requested to opt for e-filing, unless unavoidable.
