PRODUCTION BIOS

CRAIG ANDERSON (Executive Producer) – Founded by four time Tony Award-winning producer Craig Anderson, Craig Anderson Productions has recently presented 12 movies and miniseries for television, including CBS's "The Christmas Blessing" with and Rebecca Gayheart, "American Meltdown" starring Bruce Greenwood and Arnold Vosloo for FX, and the Johnson & Johnson Spotlight Presentation "Wilder Days" starring , and Tim Daly for TNT. Recently, the success of Lifetime's "For the Love of a Child" with and Teri Polo led to the film being honored at the White House in Washington D.C.

In April 2001, Anderson put his theatrical expertise to work with one of his most ambitious undertakings: a live production of the award-winning play , starring and . Originally produced and directed by Anderson on Broadway, the television presentation was broadcast live as the First Annual State Farm Showcase.

For Lifetime Television, CAP presented "Range of Motion" and "Midwives," the latter becoming the highest rated movie in the network's history, earning a 2002 nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor for 's role as Sybil Danforth.

Craig Anderson first found success upon the boards of Broadway and, after producing and/or directing over 30 productions in , he returned to his native California and formed CAP. The first film, "Bump in the Night" starring Meredith Baxter and , was broadcast on CBS in 1991 and became one of the highest-rated movies of the season.

CAP's association with began in 1992 with the popular and critically acclaimed production of Willa Cather's classic novel "O Pioneers" on CBS--starring , Heather Graham and David Strathairn--through 1995's "The Piano Lesson" (CBS), which was based on August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize winning play. Starring Charles Dutton and , "The Piano Lesson" was a commercial and critical triumph, earning the George Foster Peabody Award, the Christopher Award, nine Emmy nominations, and from Anderson's peers, a nomination for a Producers Guild of America Golden Laurel Award.

Other notable CAP productions include "The Secret" starring for Kraft/General Foods and CBS, "There Was A Little Boy" starring Shepherd and John Heard (CBS), the NBC blockbuster miniseries "Dead By Sunset" starring Ken Olin and Annette O'Toole, and USA Network's "Passion and Prejudice" starring Francis Fisher.

Projects in development include: "Affairs to Remember", a six-hour limited series for USA, "The Essie Mae Williams Story" for HBO, and a 12-hour limited series based on Pat Conroy's "The Prince of Tides" for ABC. Upcoming television movie projects are "The Buffalo Soldier" by best-selling author Chris Bohjalian, and "Welcome to Club Divorce", "The Elevator", and "Heavens to Betsy", for Lifetime. "The Key", "Lights Out", "Rules of War", and "Breakshots" are among the feature films in development.

DUANE POOLE (Writer) – Duane Poole has more than 40 television movies to his credit, including the final two screen appearances of . If you ask, he’ll tell you some hilarious stories about their friendship -- though he hates name-dropping, as do the other stars he’s written for, such as Johnny Depp, , Anthony Quinn, , , , , , and Fred Flintstone.

After graduation from the University of Washington in Seattle, he began his Hollywood career at Hanna-Barbera, writing for animated dogs before graduating to real people as a writer and producer for Aaron Spelling on “Hart to Hart,” “Hotel,” and two years of creating “The Love Boat” movies on location around the world.

His feature, “Shattered Image,” was an official selection at the Venice, Montreal, and Toronto Film Festivals. He’s most proud, however, of his screen adaptation of ’s “,” which he is now adapting to the stage as a musical in 2009.

Duane has not yet won an Oscar, Emmy, Grammy, or Tony, but would very much like to if you could put in a good word.

JOANY KANE (Writer) – Joany Kane graduated from a USC film program and served as Associate Producer for the Oscar nominated documentary production company Florentine Films. While with Florentine she worked on the award winning “The People’s Plague: Tuberculosis in America” and on the Emmy and Peabody award winning documentary, "Divided Highways." (That film was the inspiration for the feature film "Cars.")

Kane served as research consultant on the Amistad documentary for A&E, the companion project to 's feature film of the same name. She worked as assistant to producer Sarah Green on 's independent feature film "The Spanish Prisoner" and she has served as associate director for the Northampton Festival.

Kane has produced several short films including "Tailgating from Margaritaville" for musician Jimmy Buffett, "Gentlemen Songsters, the story of the Yale Whiffenpoofs," for Yale University

and the acclaimed documentary film "The Learning Tree" about an inner city educational facility.

Kane founded Peak Projects with the goal of raising funds and awareness for charitable programs through media projects. Recipients from her efforts thus far include St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Fund.

She has optioned ten scripts and has placed in three screenwriting contests.

KAREN ARTHUR (Director) – Karen Arthur has been directing for film, TV series and TV movies for 30 years, after spending a brief period as an actress, appearing in such shows as “The Wild, Wild West,” “Get Smart” and “The Streets of San Francisco.” In 1985, she won an Emmy award for her direction of “Cagney and Lacey.”

Among her many directing credits are several Hallmark Hall of Fame films, including “The Locket” with ,” “The Lost Child” with Mercedes Ruel and “Shadow of a Doubt” with .

Arthur has directed some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including , Diane Lane, Delta Burke, Kirstie Alley, , Christopher Reeve, Angela Bassett, Billy Dee Williams, Stavy Keach and Cybill Sheperd.
