CANADIAN UNION CONFERENCE--APPROPRIATION: VOTED, To authorize an appropriation of $37,500 from the General Conference Emergency Fund to the Canadian Union Conference, in order to meet the emergency demands and requirements of the city of Oshawa, relating to Oshawa Missionary College, in regard to the sewage system of the plant. RUSSIAN SDA REFUGEES—ASSISTANCE: The Displaced Persons Committee has given study to a suggestion which has been received from the World Council of Churches, in its Hong Kong office. This organization suggests that the General Conference continue to give assistance to the Russian Seventh-day Adventists who are in dire need and distress. The most recent authorization on this matter approved con- tinuance of this assistance to December 31, 1958. On recommendation of the Displaced Persons Committee, it was • 216 February 5, 1959

VOTED, To authorize further assistance in accordance with the list that was sent by the Far Eastern Division in respect to these Russian believers, it being understood that this assistance will continue to June 30, 1959, at a total rate of Hong Kong 43,090 per month, this expense to be charged to the Disaster and Relief Funds.

DISPLACED PERSONS COMMITTEE—DISBANDED; FUNDS TO DISASTER AND RELIEF FUND: Inasmuch as the services of the Displaced Persons Committee are no longer required, it was

VOTED, That the Displaced Persons Committee be disbanded, and that the remaining funds placed at the disposal of that committee be returned to the Disaster and Relief Fund.

GUARD MAGI--RELEASED FROM WORK WITH DISPLACED PERSONS:

VOTED, To release Eduard Magi from his part-time work in connection with displaced persons, as from December 31, 1958, and that the work for displaced persons from now on be the responsibility of the New York Transportation Agency, Further VOTED, To express to Eduard Magi our appreciation for the out- standing service and self-sacrificing work he has carried on in giving assist- ance to displaced persons.

The issued assurances total 2,640, and the refugees who have arrived in the United States total 1,712.

WORKING POLICY--PRINTING OF REVISED EDITION: VOTED, To authorize the printing of a revision of the General Conference Working Policy.

'WESTERN TRANSPORTATION OFFICE BANK ACCOUNTS:

G. A. Lindsay is taking the place of P. L. Williams as Agent in the Western Transportation Office. This necessitates a change in bank signa- tures. The following resolutions were adopted: Resolved, That the Crocker-Anglo National Bank, San Francisco, California, be, and hereby is, authorized to recognize the signatures of C. L. Torrey, Treasurer, and/or O. A. Blake, Undertreasurer, and/or G. A.
