Prayer Service for Primates Gathering 2016

The Officiant then says: The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. Let us pray.

Collect for a Church Convention Almighty and everlasting Father, you have given the Holy Spirit to abide with us for ever: Bless, we pray, with his grace and presence, the soon to be assembled in your Name, that your Church, being preserved in true faith and godly discipline, may fulfill all the mind of him who loved it and gave himself for it, your Son our Savior; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

A Collect For Primates Gracious Father, who in your prophet Isaiah promised us a Spirit of wisdom and understanding, counsel and inward strength, knowledge and true godliness: breathe that same Spirit on the leaders of your church today, that they may meet you in one another, find perfect freedom in your service, and bring forth your Spirit’s fruits of love, joy and peace; that your church may be renewed in the form of your Son, born, crucified and risen that we might be one with you and in you, ever one God, merciful and mighty. Amen.

!5 Concluding Collect for Primates Almighty God, who by your Son Jesus Christ gave many excellent gifts to your holy Apostles, and charged them to feed your flock; give your grace to all Bishops, the Pastors of your Church, that they may diligently preach your Word, duly administer your Sacraments, and wisely provide godly Discipline; and grant to your people that they may obediently follow them, so that all may receive the crown of everlasting glory, through the merits of our Savior, Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, world without end. Amen.

Collect for the Unity of the Church Almighty Father, whose blessed Son before his passion prayed for his disciples that they might be one, as you and he are one: Grant that your Church, being bound together in love and obedience to you, may be united in one body by the one Spirit, that the world may believe in him whom you have sent, your Son Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

For the Church Gracious Father, we pray for thy holy . Fill it with all truth, in all truth with all peace. Where it is corrupt, purify it; where it is in error, direct it; where in any thing it is amiss, reform it. Where it is right, strengthen it; where it is in want, provide for it; where it is divided, reunite it; for the sake of Jesus Christ thy Son our Savior. Amen.

A Prayer of John Chrysostom Almighty God, you have given us grace at this time with one accord to make our common supplications to you; and you have promised through your well beloved Son that when two or three are gathered together in his name you will be in the midst of them: Fulfill now, O Lord, our desires and petitions as may be best for us; granting us in this world knowledge of your truth, and in the age to come life everlasting.
