Football Tournament On Monday, our year 9 football team took part in the Wandsworth Schools’ 6‐a‐side tournament. Our A team drew one game and lost two, in a very competitive group. The A team fought valiantly against a strong Ashcroft team but were on the wrong side of a 1‐0 scoreline. In the next game we had the majority of the chances against Bolingbroke but couldn't find the finishing touch. The score finished 0‐0. In our last game we lost 2‐0 to Harris Battersea who went on to win the A team competition.

Our B team won all four of their matches, destroying all the other B teams in the tournament. The results were as follows: Game 1: Southfields B – 1 v 3 Ark Putney B Game 2: Southfields C – 1 v 2 Ark Putney B Game 3: Ark Putney B – 1 v 0 Ashcroft B Game 4: Ernest Bevin B – 1 v 2 Ark Putney B

Well done to all involved. Mr Evans

Space to Earth Challenge at The Hurlingham Academy On Tuesday 26 APA students travelled to The Hurlingham Academy to take part in the space to earth challenge. It was a fun event with pupils attempting to match the distance from Earth to the International Space station (400km) In 20 minutes of cycling and running our students managed to travel 220km which is over half the distance. Well done to all those who took up the challenge.

Year 7 boys vs The Harefield Academy Our year 7 boys’ football team played against The Harefield Academy in a cup game at Barn Elms Sports Centre on Wednesday. Unfortunately their unbeaten run came to an end against a very strong and skilful team. It was a great test of character for the team and they will hopefully bounce back from their loss and grow stronger and more determined as a team. An amazing effort from the boys, who have attended training regularly and are always up for a challenge. Man of the match goes to Dominic Smart for his positive attitude throughout the game.

Wandsworth U14s Basketball Competition Wednesday evening saw the 2nd round of the Wandsworth basketball tournament for boys in year 7 to 9. This time the tournament was held at our school venue. The organisers were impressed by the quality of our new sports hall and the level of competition that was on display. After the two rounds of fixtures the final results were as follows:  Ashcroft beat Ark Putney 8‐3 in the semi final  Graveney beat Southfields 11‐10 in the semi Final  Harris Academy beat Bollingbroke in the 5th/6th Play‐Off  St Cecilia's ‐ 7th

Therefore the two teams going through to the Wandsworth finals on Monday 12th December will be Graveney v Ashcroft. Well done to all the boys who have been regularly attending training and competing on Wednesday. Next week we will also host the girls’ U14 competition. Let’s go APA!
