She wasn’t scared of anything! So Mrs. Candy acted like she was nor- mal until she came to the age of ten! When Jo Jo saw other mice, they always went outside. But she never did! It was always the teachers saying, “You’re too delicate to go outside.” How do I know all this, you ask? Because, I am Jo Jo… “Mom all the kids at school go outside, but I don’t!” I said. “Well, um well, that is because your skin is too precious to be in the sun.” But I knew it was because I was so small; I would be the hawk’s first target! “Where are you going?” I asked. “To get groceries,” my mom said. “Ok, bye.” “Bye.” I was going to do it! I was going to try to go outside! So I walked to the door … CREEK! Boom! Sunlight poured all over me! Aww, the fresh air tasted so good in my mouth! I took 1 step…2… 3… 4… 5… 6! I loved it! I saw the meadow. It looked so pretty! Roses, sunflowers, and petu- nias. I ran to it. I lay down for like three hours it seemed, and then I saw something flying. Closer and closer it came. Suddenly a hawk almost snapped off my TAIL! I ran and ran with the hawk right behind me. Then I saw a log. This was my chance to escape! I ran into the log. I didn’t see the hawk anymore so I thought I was safe. I looked around took 1 step out of the log 2… 3… 4… 5… 6…7… 8… 9! Then I saw the hawk, but it was focused on another animal. So I ran! I saw my house! There were police mice all around it. My mom was even crying! I ran to her! Now I know never to go wandering outside alone. AHHH!
