Vol. 12/2012 Handling with CARE…Customer ∙ Attentive ∙ Responsive ∙ Efficient

Dear Friends, “ Thank you for Welcome to the final edition of the BFS Cargo E- your support of BFS Cargo in Newsletter. 2012. I wish you and your As we say goodbye to 2012 later this month we loved ones a can look back on another difficult year for our very Merry Industry. Lack of growth, lack of revenue, lack of Christmas and a Happy, Safe, and profits, and most importantly a lack of new ideas! Prosperous New When will people finally realise that all is not well David Ambridge Year.” in our Industry? What crisis will it take before we General Manager - Cargo actually get together and make the changes we so desperately need? Freighter Aircraft are being parked in the desert again, expect maybe this time never to return to commercial service. Airlines losing millions of dollars every year but thinking that doing things exactly the same way will produce different results!

As we move into 2013 we really do need to change. E-AWB needs to gain further momentum with Airlines signing up and making the savings that are available. Greater co-operation between Airlines, Freight Forwarders, and GHA’s needs to happen to further simplify our daily business. Every cost saving opportunity needs to be identified and implemented. If growth is not happening then the only way to make profits is to spend less. I really hope to see an improvement in 2013 but after 40 years in this business I feel very skeptical.

BFS Cargo continues to grow and move forward though. On November 21st we signed Airlines and we are very happy to have them with us as the 49th Airline that we handle here in BKK. I hope to announce number 50 early in 2013.

There is no indication of a peak season once again this year. Export volumes remain very flat while Import volumes continue to grow.

Our new Tariff comes into effect on January 1st. We announced this 3 months ago so there should be no surprises on the day itself. I will do all that I possibly can to maintain this same tariff in 2014 and I will keep you posted throughout the year as we look at the revenue numbers.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of BFS Cargo in 2012. I wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Safe, and Prosperous New Year.

Regards, David Ambridge General Manager at WFS affiliate Flight Services - Cargo
