Rather than a French Pinot Gris style, which is soft and oily, our winemakers chose the Italian Grigio style, which is clean and vibrant with a touch of mineral acidity. A soft and easy drinking wine with a ripe tropical fruit character and a mellow finish.

15 CONDE VILLAR VINHO VERDE £25.00 BRANCO 2014 – PORTUGAL ABV 11% By the glass – 175ml £6.00 Quinta das Arcas produce in and around Vinho Verde in the north of Portugal. The company was founded in 1985 by Antonio Manteiro, and is still run by him and his family. The area has a rich history of winemaking with references going back as far as the Ancient Greeks, so there is no shortage of knowledge about how to get the best out of the land. Made from the indigenous handpicked grape varieties, this wine has lovely tropical aromas reminiscent of pineapple and mango, soft minerality and slight sparkle.

67 BRANCOTT ESTATE LETTER SERIES £30.00 SAUVIGNON BLANC 2014 ABV 13.1% This complex Sauvignon Blanc displays intense pink grapefruit, passionfruit and guava characters on the nose. This follows through to a richly textured palate with grapefruit and tropical characters and underlying green olive and capsicum notes. It is all bound together by a crisp acidity that leads to a lingering finish.

21 MÂCON VILLAGES ‘CRÉPILLIONES’ £30.50 DOMAINE FICHET 2013 – FRANCE ABV 12.5% Too often overlooked for quality wines, the brothers are turning this around with their attention to specific sites in the Mâconnais, and the results are impressive; this wine is fresh and luscious with flavours of lemongrass, citrus fruits, pine, quince and fennel.

22 DOMINGO MARTIN ALBARIÑO 2013 – £31.50 SPAIN ABV 12.5% The delightful Angela Martin and her husband Andrew McCarthy run the Castro Martin estate in Rias Baixas, on Spain’s Galician coast, where production of Albariño at their bodega can be traced back to as far as 1887. This has rich and generous flavours of ripe peaches and pears, backed by a vivid streak of lemon and mineral acidity.

23 RIVA LEONE GAVI 2014 – £31.50 ITALY ABV 12% The name Riva Leone is taken from the name of a wine merchant from Alba in Northern Italy, who at the beginning of the 20th century decided to bottle the wine that he sold on tap to his clients. The house portrayed on the label shows his shop in the countryside of Alba. This Gavi is delicate with intense fruity and lemony notes. Clean and fresh with a long lingering, citrusy finish.

24 SANCERRE BLANC LE MANOIR ANDRÉ £38.00 NEVEU 2013 – FRANCE ABV 12.5% Part-winemakers, part-cheesemakers, Valerie and Thomas Dezat produce a full and elegant style of Sancerre with plenty of Sauvignon Blanc fruit character. The Dezets do everything themselves by hand, from pruning and harvesting right through to bottling. This has a herbaceous, citrus nose and flavours of crisp green apple. RED

33 JACOB’S CREEK CLASSIC SHIRAZ £19.50 2013 – AUSTRALIA ABV 13.5% By the glass – 175ml £5.00 This medium-bodied Shiraz has generous flavours of pepper, plum and spicy fruit, with subtle hints of toasted oak. The palate is medium-bodied with vibrant fruit flavours of spicy plum and blackberry.

35 VALDIVIESO PINOT NOIR 2012 – £24.50 CHILE ABV 14.5% By the glass – 175ml £6.00 In the early 1980s Don Alberto Valdivieso began to produce still wines and, ever since, has obtained outstanding results and been showered with awards. Their Pinot Noir has a smooth, glossy texture and bursts with morello cherry and raspberry flavours.

37 CROZES-HERMITAGE ROUGE LES £33.50 JALETS PAUL JABOULET AÎNÉ 2012 – FRANCE ABV 13% “Jalets” is the Old French word for the pebbles in the vineyards left by alpine glaciers. This wine, from the Crozes- Hermitage region in the northern Rhône, is made from 100% and has aromas and flavours of fresh red berries and notes of liquorice and black pepper.

38 JACOB’S CREEK ST. HUGO £35.00 2010 – AUSTRALIA ABV 14% St Hugo is named after Johann’s grandson Hugo Gramp – a key figure at . It is the very best Jacob’s Creek Cabernet Sauvignon and as such bears the ‘Jacob’s Creek Winemakers’ endorser. Lifted and intense on the nose, with vibrant cassis and black fruits layered over well integrated oak-derived notes of cedar, cinnamon and roasted hazelnut.

39 FLEURIE MILLESIME CAVE DE FLEURIE £36.50 2013 – FRANCE ABV 13% Cave de Fleurie dates back to the First World War when the women of the village tended the vines whilst the men were at the front line. This is a light, fresh and fruity style of wine with lots of juicy, strawberry flavours. ROSÉ

49 MAROTTI CAMPI LACRIME ROSATO IGT £26.50 MARCHE 2014 – ITALY ABV 12.5% By the glass – 175ml £6.20 Marotti Campi is situated near the medieval village of Morro d’Alba in Italy’s stunning Le Marche region. Making wine on the site since the mid 19th century, the estate totals 120 hectares, of which most is planted with the two ancient and indigenous varieties of Lacrima and Verdicchio. The rosé is made from the Lacrima grape, and is bursting with aromas and flavours of rose petals, violets and fresh red fruit.
