Responding to the critical WASH needs of 15,500 individuals recently returned/returning to the Para area of Upper Kurram District LASOONA has launched an integrated WASH project. The project focuses on enhancing access to clean drinking water in 6 villages, and sanitation facilities in schools and health facilities and promoting better hygiene behaviors in communities and schools. The Project is designed in response to the call for proposal announced by PHPF under Allocation Strategy 2018. The project has been formally launched, staff induction and setting up of field office in Kurram has been completed. Detail need assessment and social mobilization is in progress at community level. Disaster Risk Reduction Project Inception workshop: One-day inception/launching workshop of new DRR project ''Enhancing Disaster resilience of Vulnerable Households in '' was held in Pameer Hotel Swat. The project is being implemented in 7 village councils of Matta tehsil with prime objective to enhance resilience of the local people. The workshop was attended by 65 participants including representatives from local authorities' civil society and beneficiaries of the project.
