The Project 1 logo should always be used in black & white with the option to overlay on the tertiary colors, either orange or yellow. Here are some examples of misuse.

Univers 55 Roman Univers was one of the first typeface families to fulfil the idea that a typeface should form a family of ABCDEFGHIJKLM consistent, related designs. Past sans-serif designs such as Gill Sans had much greater differences NOPQRSTUVWXYZ between weights, while loose families such as American Type Founders’ Franklin Gothic family abcdefghijklm often were advertised under different names for each style, to emphasise that they were not completely nopqrstuvwxyz matching. 8 PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography of Project 1 artworks should primarily be used in full color, although there are alternate styles for use when assets are low resolution or when the context allows for a more expressive application. Repetition, cropping and mixing different combinations of two-color process can be used to provide visual interest.

Be sure to provide artist credit on photography whenever possible.

For designer use when altering photo styles:

• Open photo in Photoshop • Go to Image > Mode > Grayscale (click discard) • Convert to Bitmap (flatten layers) • Output: 200-300 pixels/inch Method: Halftone Screen • Frequency: 25 Angle: 15 Shape: Ellipse • Keep as bitmap and Save As .tif file • Drop image into InDesign and change foreground and/or background colors (use only the colors from the the color palette on page 07)
