The Federation had to face the possibility of not taking part in th e Olympic Games, at the present moment however there was no urgency, so the matter could be considered quietly, how to realise the idea . Upon the proposal of Austria (MEISL) the Congress was suspended for 10 minutes. Adopted. The following resolution was proposed by France (CHEVALLIER) :

8 9 „The European, American, African and Asiatic Federations present at the Congres s of Amsterdam (25th and 26th May 1928) give full confidence to the Executive Committe e to negociate in the interest of international football ” . This proposal was put to the vote and adopted unanimously .

Czechoslovakia (Dr. PELIKAN) remarked that it had sympathy for the ideas of th e British Associations with regard to the question of payment of compensation for broken time . It voted for the resolution as it wished a strong and mighty F . 1 . F. A. Chile (LiVINGSTONE) speaking also on behalf Argentine regretted not to have bee n present during the voting . Both countries heartily supported the resolution and wished t o add their votes to the unanimity . The Chairman expressed his thanks for this proof of confidence from the Congres s in the work that had been done and might be done in the future. The Excutive Committee now knew in which way it could move . The withdrawal was a fact and awaiting the reparation of the unity the present situation must be regulated . He could inform the Congress that the Executive Committee had decided in the meantime that matches which already had been concluded with British teams were allowe d to be played . He considered it an abnormal state of things if the British Associations should plac e themselves permanently outside universal football . The F. 1. F. A. itself had proved to be a necessity to regularise internationa l conditions. Mr. OESTRup expressed his thanks to the Chairman for leading this Congress an d the hope that the next Congress would be just as successful . The Chairman stated that a Congress with 30 nations represented beat all record s from the Federation. Where it was often said that the greater a gathering the worse it was , the wisdom shown by this Congress was there to contradict such meaning . He thanked for the kind words and closed the Congress .
