Pokerlegende Annie Duke Pokerlegende Annie Duke Annie Duke wurde am 13. September 1965 in Concord/New Hampshire geboren. Neben “Annie Legend” und “The Duchess of Poker” ist wohl ihr bekanntester Spitzname: ”The Duke”. Chip Reese, T.J Cloutier, Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Doyle Brunson, Greg Raymer, Johnny Chan, Phil Hellmuth Jr. und ihren eigenen Bruder Howard Lederer, durchzusetzen. Kathy Liebert USD 4.013.493,- 2. Annie Duke USD 3.371.805,- 3. Jennifer Harman USD 1.769.079,-.

  • Learn How to Make Money Freelance Writing for the Casino/Gaming Industry!
Learn how to make money freelance writing for the casino/gaming industry! FREELANCE POKER WRITING: How to Make Money Writing for the Gaming Industry Buy The Complete Version of This Book at Booklocker.com: http://www.booklocker.com/p/books/2570.html?s=pdf Freelance Poker Writing by Brian Konradt 14 PREFACE This book is slightly ahead of its time. Freelance Poker Writing is the first book showing freelance writers how to make money writing for the gaming industry. Why now? Both poker and casino-style games have been growing in popularity — and so has the writing opportunities. If you search for “poker writing” or “legalized game writing” on Google, you won’t come up with much information on how to break into this industry as a freelance writer. This does not mean writing opportunities don’t exist or freelance writers aren’t making money writing about poker and gaming. If you dig long enough, interview the pros in the industry, and research everything about poker and gaming, you will come up with what I came up. And I crammed everything I found into this guide for you. WHAT IS FREELANCE POKER WRITING? There are many popular casino-style games, but nothing matches the growth and popularity of poker and how poker influences society. In writing this book I have focused more on the games and influences of poker than on any other casino-style games. I use the term “poker writing” in this book to mean writing about the games of poker, as well as writing about the influences of poker.

Friday, December 07, 2007 Lying about your hand "Did you know that it's OK to lie about your hand, but you're not allowed to tell the truth about it?" I heard that from a woman at the table yesterday at the Flamingo. It's not the first time that I've heard somebody make such an assertion. Most famously, Annie Duke said essentially the same thing during one of the 2006 World Series of Poker episodes. I suspect that the 700 million re-broadcasts of the series are ultimately the source by which most players "know" this rule. But it's not true. The fact that so many people hear this and instantly believe it is just one tiny manifestation of the general societal problem that most people have precious little training or experience in critical thinking.* Even if I weren't pretty well attuned to the subject of poker rules, just an overall skepticism about accepting as fact things that people say would have caused me to raise a quizzical eyebrow at Ms. Duke's claim. I would immediately think, "Can that really be true? If so, it doesn't make any sense at all." Let me address this under three headings: (1) Why the "rule" as stated would be stupid and pointless, (2) What the rule actually is, and (3) What I think the rule should be. The alleged rule would be stupid and pointless Suppose for a moment that there really were a rule that said that you could say any lie you wanted to about your hand, but couldn't tell the truth about what you were holding.

  • Erick Lindgren a Young Superstar Won the Poker Cruise Million
Erick Lindgren A Young Superstar won the Poker Cruise Million When he awoke on the cruise ship, Erick Lindgren was slow to remember the events of the previous day. Then, he looked on the nightstand, shook his head, and started laughing and mumbling to himself. There on the nightstand was a USD 22,000 bar tab from the night before! He had literally stayed up the entire night to party with friends – a ship full of them! In one fell swoop, the entire evening came back to him. After winning USD 1 million, he wanted everyone to celebrate his victory; he bought drinks for every person in the Crow’s Nest Bar for one hour. The Crow’s Nest isn’t just any bar. It is a colossal bar on the top of Holland America’s luxury cruise ship, the MS Ryndam. The room is dramatically enclosed by floor-to-ceiling windows, through which the lapping waves of the ocean can be observed. Furthermore, this wasn’t just any cruise; it was a poker cruise consisting of 546 players and roughly 750 companions, with the only non-poker related people on board being the ship’s crew. All week long, PartyPoker.com and Card Player Cruises put on a fabulous event. Poker players from all over the world partied and enjoyed one another’s company throughout the week. Mike Sexton called it „the world’s greatest poker party.“ Unfortunately for Erick’s pocket, it was quite the party where everyone knew one another and everyone wanted to join in the celebration; USD 22,000 buys lots of drinks, folks! The Guy Everyone Likes Prior to our interview, I walked around the ship asking people to tell me what they thought of Erick.
