International Exhibition of Arms and Defence Technologies “ ArmHiTec-2020”

In accordance with the decision of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of , the Third International Exhibition of Arms and Defence Technologies “ArmHiTec- 2020" will be held in the period 26-28 March, 2020 at the Exhibition Complex "ErevanEXPO" (, Republic of Armenia).

The main objective of the International Exhibition of Arms and Defence Technologies “ArmHiTec-2020" is to develop military-economic and strategic partnership of the Republic of Armenia with its partner-countries, as well as to develop high -tech industry spheres.

In 2020 the exhibition broadens its thematic sections. Along with the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia the co-organizers of the event are:

- MOD of the Republic of Armenia State Military Industry Committee, being aimed at financing the military, scientific research projects, as well as end products. It allows the Committee to work closely with IT companies, carrying out the contracts in the spheres of hi- tech industries.

- Ministry of Hi-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, being primarily the digital sphere, military and hi-tech industries. Within the Ministry a new department, responsible for military-technical cooperation with foreign countries is currently being created. The thematic sections of the exhibition have been completed with IT tech, cyber security, engineering labs, and creative centers sections to contribute to the department’s goals realization .

The Second International Exhibition of Arms and Defence Technologies “ArmHiTec - 2018” was held in a period from 29 to 31 of March on the territory of “YerevanExpo” center in the capital city of the Republic of Armenia. Over 94 distinguished companies from 12 states of the world took part in the event which was visited by more than five thousand specialists.

The Opening Ceremony of ArmHiTec exhibition was visited by the President of Armenia, Mr. Serj Sargsyan, Minister of Defence of Armenia, Mr.Vigen Sargsyan, Deputy Secretary General of CSTO, Mr. Valeri Semerikov and other honored guests.

After cultural program and performance pres ented by the special division of the Ministry of Defence of Armenia for the occasion of exhibition opening, President of Armenia examined the exposition area of the event which covered the territory of nearly two thousand square meters. The pavilions of Ar menian and foreign companies were presented at the show, including the enterprises from , Belarus, Kazakhstan, Germany, , , Croatia, Poland, Serbia, India and China.

The key goal of ArmHiTec event is to strengthen the capability of nation al defence, develop the Military-Industry Complex of Armenia and further cooperation maintenance with the partners of the state.

Armenian companies presented unmanned aerial vehicles, anti -tank missile systems, reconnaissance and night vision devices, ra dio detection and ranging equipment, shooting arms, means of protection of staff and many other things.

For example, PRO MAQ company exhibited the unmanned aerial vehicle of their own design called Hreesh (“the monster”). The “KVKh” enterprise demonstrate d the unmanned tank which is capable of transporting cargo of more than 300 kg of weight with 200 kg of its own weight. The “Elbat” company showcased the electrolytic cells and systems of uninterruptable power maintenance. The “Elektron” plant presented th e “EKA-1” metal detector, “RIA -1” mine detecting set and other solutions.

The biggest Exhibitor of the show was the Russian Defence -Industry Complex which exhibited 591 products. The stands of 22 organizations were located on the united Russian Pavilion area organized by JSC “Rosoboronexport” corporation and included the companies like JSC “”, JSC Concern VKO "Almaz -Antey", JSC “R&D company “Tekhmash”, JSC “R&D company “Pribor”, JSC “R&D company “Splav”, Russian Aircraft Corporation “MIG” etc. The companies of “” corporation have brought over 200 samples of military production for the demonstration at the show.

The defence industry of other foreign states was also very well presented at the event. For example, Indian company Larsen&To ubro (L&T) had its own pavilion, French NEXTER Systems corp. presented the unmanned multitask robot, Military and Technical Institute of Arms and Institute of Air Force Technologies from Poland showcased the integrated aviation systems solutions and UAV sa mples while Bulgarian “Arsenal” exhibited their types of small arms and ammunition among other foreign participants of the ArmHiTec -2018 show.

The Business Program of the event included a number of round-table discussions, conferences, business meetings with the members of governmental and ministry delegations, representatives of military industry of Armenia and other states. The key event of the Business Program was the International Scientific and Practical Conference held by the Ministry of Defence of Armenia and devoted to: "Technologies of the 21st century in development of . International cooperation experience".

The delegations of all member -states of CSTO took part in the Council meeting held on the fields of ArmHiTec event. During the exhibition days the management of the Ministry of Defence of Armenia held a line of personal meetings with representatives of more than 40 companies – exhibitors of the show. A number of agreements devoted to cooperation establishment were signed.
