Experience

• As an occupational therapist, I have treated patients with a variety of psychiatric diagnoses in inpatient care, intermediate care and community care. The work involves the evaluation of a person’s ability to function, which is the basis for decisions by the social insurance office and the employer, and the basis for community psychiatry services regarding housing and employment or recommendations for continued treatment.

• Have worked with activity treatment of patients, individually and in groups. Home visits, skills training and housing adaptations have also been included in my work assignments.

• Several years’ experience of testing cognitive aids intended to compensate the patient for his or her disability.

• Have advised and lectured pupils, students in clinical practice and other professional groups in psychiatric care.

• Have driven the development of psychiatric occupational therapy forward in the workplace, developed a group psychological-pedagogical treatment program for people with ADHD and ADD. Developed structured check lists, templates and brochures that the unit uses in its daily work.

• Have previous experience of pedagogical work in preschool and elementary school, something that has been very useful in my work as an occupational therapist.

• Have completed a series of further education courses in psychiatry and occupational therapy.
