For Josh Robert Thompson ’93, these early broadcasting influences gave rise to an entire career in showbiz as, in his words, “a professional schizophrenic” extending his multiple personas throughout radio, television, video games, and at a theatre near you. 4 Josh is at once a comedian, actor, impressionist, and extraordinary voice artist, perhaps best recognized as Craig Ferguson’s robot sidekick, Geoff Peterson, on The Late Late Show (CBS). “I watched a lot of late night talk shows when I was a kid, particularly Johnny Carson,” Josh said. “So to now be Craig’s robotic Ed MacMahon is a huge honor.” As a voice actor, Josh lends his skills as a celebrity impressionist to episodes of FOX’s Family Guy, American Dad, and The Cleveland Show, while also appearing in major video game titles like Final Fantasy XIII, the Call of Duty series, and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. Due to his uncanny abilities as a mimic, Josh can slide effortlessly from sounding like Robert De Niro to Arnold Schwarzenegger, Matthew McConaughey to Morgan Freeman, and beyond.
