Exhibits Donated, Rare Mollusk Displayed

The Department of Geology at Georgia Southern has recently received two gifts to add to its collection of geological specimens. The specimen of Placenticeras and the 21 crystal specimens the department received will be exhibited in the hallway museum in , first floor of the Herty Building. The Placenticeras, collected from the Pierre Shale of South Dakota Home Management Houses by Vern Brooks of Rapid City, South Dakota, is a specimen of an ex- tinct group of mollusks called ammonites.
