The weather finally cooperated and made it possible for me to attend the Zonta banquet in Wichita, honoring Amelia Earhart. Since Kansas was Amelia’s birthplace, Governor Dock ing proclaimed January 11 Amelia Earhart Day. The Kansas Chapter lent their assistance and it was a lovely and enjoyable affair. Governor Martha Ann Reading went along to help deliver the charter to the new Houston Chapter.
