At a glance

Business demands don't stop, even if your IT does. To help protect your brand and keep your client base, your IT infrastructure needs to run constantly, but hiring multiple vendors for support can be complicated and costly.

Improve your IT availability, reduce operational costs, and drive growth and innovation by enhancing the base-level hardware and software services that are often included with IBM(R) Power(R) product purchases.

IBM Proactive Entry Support for Power Systems is an optional service enhancement focused on improved problem resolution for select Power products that have pricing and service considerations that may preclude the selection of the full IBM Proactive Support offering.

Overview

Proactive Entry Support for Power Systems is an entry-level service enhancement that provides improved problem resolution for select products.

Proactive Entry Support is an optional add-on to the base hardware warranty/ hardware maintenance (HWMA) and, where appropriate, (SWMA) services (SWMA-eligible products only). Base product usage assistance is included with Proactive Entry Support purchase on non-SWMA eligible products.

Proactive Entry Support is designed to make problem reporting and resolution easy, fast, and efficient. As a result, Proactive Entry Support will assist clients with reducing downtime and lowering IT operational costs. This service enhancement provides:

• Priority access: Single point of entry for all hardware and software problems to a dedicated team of skilled resources • Priority response: Use of a unique direct access code (DAC) that delivers the potential for live call back and a maximum 30-minute response time for reported severity 1 issues. • Priority handling: First point of contact is a dedicated team of product support specialists who will either resolve the problem directly or engage the appropriate additional resources to resolve the problem as fast as possible

IBM United States Software Announcement 220-399 IBM is a registered trademark of International Business Machines Corporation 1 Proactive Entry Support is a subset of the full IBM Proactive Support enhanced service option.

IBM offers a more robust, comprehensive support offering in Proactive Support, which will transform base support into a complete support solution that is consistent across the IT environment. Proactive Support provides customizable, managed assistance with problem avoidance and an expanded version of the enhanced problem resolution delivered by Proactive Entry Support.

For more information on Proactive Support, see Services Announcement 618-007, dated May 15, 2018.

IBM systems and products are designed to be part of a regulatory compliant, comprehensive security approach, which will necessarily involve additional operational procedures, and may require other systems, products, or services to be most effective.

Important: IBM does not warrant that any systems, products, or services are immune from, or will make your enterprise immune from, the malicious or illegal conduct of any party.
