2017 Annual Report on Content and Service to the Community 1 EDUCATE As a natural extension of our quality children’s programming, the Early Learning department provides training for preschool and early childhood educators so that the children in their care can start school “ready to learn.” The Educational Resource Center (ERC) staff provide professional development training to area K-12 educators – we make better teachers! ERC Professional Development and Special Projects The ERC offered professional development to more than 300 area schools and district leaders sharing new offerings in Professional Development, including Invention Literacy with MakeyMakey, Intercultural trainings, Google Classroom, Project-Based Learning, and more!

WGTE TV streamed 23 Toledo City Council meetings, which enabled the community to stay abreast of local politics and issues.

WGTE TV produced 35 new episodes of the weekly public affairs series “Deadline Now,” which is hosted by noted journalist, Jack Lessenberry, and co-produced by Susan Pitcher, station volunteer.

More than 150 educational presentations were recorded and added to the Knowledge Stream library, an online archive of nearly 1,500 free, video- on-demand multimedia resources for the public and educators.
