Women’s Premier Programme Round 11 Lotto NRFL 2015 Welcome With no men’s matches taking place on Saturday due to the FIFA U-20 World Cup final, it’s the turn of the women to take centre stage in the Lotto NRFL this weekend. Fittingly, there are a number of matches in store which deserve the spotlight as the race for the title starts to heat up. Leaders Claudelands Rovers are in pole position and, with Helen Collins firing on all cylinders, are likely to be the side the other contenders must force their way in front of. At this stage, it’s a genuine four-horse race as defending champions Forrest Hill-Milford and Western Springs snap at the heels of Claudelands while Glenfield Rovers are just a CONTENTS few points further back. The clash between Glenfield and Western Springs at McFetridge Park is therefore of huge importance while there is also a vital encounter at the bottom with Norwest United hosting Fencibles United. Lotto NRFL 2015 3 In the programme this week, we preview all five Women’s Premier games in Round 11, as well as featuring photos from Phototek of two recent matches. But Fencibles are in the same boat so the points Bethanee Witt 17 Deven Jackson Paige Nicholl 16 Saskia Vosper will be very fiercely contested. The major problem for both teams has been shipping goals – Norwest have let in Coach Alan Witt 18 Shania Heath Milly Connor 17 Chloe Knott nearly 60 while Fencibles are approaching half a century. Fencibles actually have the best attacking record out of 21 Emily Derlin Anna Green 19 Casey Ridsdale the bottom four sides though and will hope that can give them the edge here. Having been vs 2 Nadege Salvador Yasmeen Kareem 1 Erin Nayler (GK) 1 Dani Bradley top as recently as the seventh round, they will still harbour hopes of a high finish but the title appears to be a long 3 Holly Scott 2 Nechita Inwood 2 Gine Benge 3 Daynika Lamb shot. Suburbs are on a good run after winning two on the trot but both matches were against sides they will have 4 Estelle Harrison 3 Ellie Jeurissen 3 Tayla Bazeley 5 Nicole Lawrence expected to beat and Three Kings will offer a much sterner examination. Suburbs did the double over Three Kings 6 Bridgette Armstrong 4 Elizabeth Anton 4 Sophie Sills 7 Lusia Iaone last season but that will count for little as the squad is unrecognisable from those days. 7 Stacey Hallford 5 Caitlin Janes 5 Danica Maclean 10 Tayla Hetherington 8 Jess Innes 6 Millie Goddard 6 Maddie Snell 11 Jess Snell 10 Briar McNamara 7 Emma Phelps 7 Shayden Cathro 12 Ally Toailoa Lynn-Avon United vs Forrest Hill-Milford United 11 Katie Rood 8 Gina Swanney 8 Sam Waru 13 Monique Fischer 12 Liz Milne 9 Samantha Tawharu 9 Nicole Cooper 14 Rosie Leota Ken Maunder Park | Sunday 21 June | Kick-off: 1pm | Referee: Johanna O’Connor 13 Bel van Noorden 10 Jessica Vale 10 Kailey Short 15 Shontelle Stevens Assistant Referees: Hilary Osborne, Paul Mason 14 Maddie Jorgensen 11 Jenna Dodd 11 Tania Oldfield 16 Lauren McErlean vs 15 Janie Hemsley 12 Alosi Bloomfield 12 Mel Giles 17 Allysha Johnson Champions Forrest Hill face a real fight to defend their crown this season with Claudelands leading the way and 16 Sonja Bain 13 Anita Killip 13 Megan Lee 18 Jax David much-improved Western Springs likewise launching a genuine bid. Glenfield are also just three points behind so it 17 Emily Oosterhof 14 Courtney Noble 17 Tekura Tutai 20 Charlotte Maumeasagisagi looks like the race could get tight over the coming weeks. Every point is therefore going to be crucial and Forrest 18 Kelsey Dzaferic (GK) 15 Charlotte Hull 18 Georgia Steele (GK) 21 Liz Wong Hill can’t afford a slip up here against a team that has won just twice. Lynn-Avon are not clear of relegation worries 16 Victoria Murray 22 Maraea Marsh 22 Hanna Kelly though so will be in no frame of mind to allow Forrest Hill an easy ride. Coach Andrew Clay 17 Sierra Palladino Coach Chris Acott 31 Sharnia Blanchard 18 Kate Storer Coach Andrew Kirk Glenfield Rovers vs Western Springs McFetridge Park | Sunday 21 June | Kick-off: 1pm | Referee: James Ashford Assistant Referees: Chris Casey, Charlie Tseng vs This is the tie of the round and a win for either side would be a massive boost to their chances of pushing for the title as the business end of the season approaches. As the worst-placed of the title contenders, Glenfield are in greatest need of the points and, having lost three times already, another defeat could put an end to their hopes. After posting a couple of early losses, the new-look Springs squad has really hit its straps in recent weeks, earning five wins in a row. Things are going well at both ends of the park with 21 goals scored in those matches and just one conceded. 4 | Programme 2015 | 5 50 Years of Local Pride Lotto NRFL Women’s Premier Squad Lists Lotto NRFL Women’s Premier Golden Boot Three Kings United Western Springs AFC PLAYER CLUB GOALS 1 Rebecca Rolls 1 Ashleigh McNaughton 2 Shivanthi Anthony 2 Kirstyn Oldfield Katie Rood Glenfield Rovers 19 3 Hannah Wall 3 Annabelle Webster 4 Sophie Stewart-Hobbs 4 Chelsey Wood Helen Collins Claudelands Rovers 15 5 Nadia Pearl 5 Lily-Rose Dyer 6 Kristy Hill 6 Jess Verdon Tayla O'Brien Forrest Hill-Milford 13 7 Isabella Richards 7 Jolene Muir 8 Jessie Mathews 8 Melanie Gooch 9 Martine Puketapu 9 Flora McLeod Aimee Phillips Forrest Hill-Milford 12 10 Hanna English 10 Rebecca O’Neill 11 Hannah Robert 11 Becky Hawker Rebecca Tegg Western Springs 10 12 Rachel Porteous 12 Emily Stotter 14 Tessa Leong 13 Betheny Weller Kate Loye Claudelands Rovers 9 15 Claudia Crasborn 14 Sam Muirhead 16 Caitlin Pritchard 15 Megan Robertson Belinda van Noorden Glenfield Rovers 8 17 Hannah Blake 16 Harriet Steele 18 Kristen Molloy 17 Rebecca Tegg 19 Jasmine Pereira 18 Evie Millynn Bethanee Witt Claudelands Rovers 7 20 Abby Roper 19 Dayna Manak Coach Alan Hindson 20 Emily Cooper Lily-Rose Dyer Western Springs 5 21 Lauren Mathis 22 Sophia Dyer Deven Jackson Eastern Suburbs 5 23 Penny Chapman 24 Hannah Kraakman Coach Richard Wilson Lauren Mathis Western Springs 5 Jade Parris Eastern Suburbs 5 Lotto NRFL Women’s Premier Tables Martine Puketapu Three Kings United
