T h o m a s E . B a r r y Thomas E. Barry, professor of marketing at the Cox School, joined the SMU initial research that helped produce SMU’s successful proposal to bring the faculty in 1970. He earned B.S. and M.S. degrees from Southern Illinois George W. Bush Presidential Center to campus. A l i r e z a K h o t a n z ad Alireza Khotanzad, professor of Electrical Engineering in SMU’s Bobby B. has served on editorial boards of several technical journals. In addition to his Lyle School of Engineering, joined the SMU faculty in 1984 after earning academic activities, Professor Khotanzad also is the founder and president of B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees at Purdue University. His research focuses on PRT, Inc., a high-tech engineering firm specializing in artificial intelligence- pattern recognition, artificial neural networks and machine learning and their based predictive analytics tools for the energy industry. R o be r t E . K r o u t Robert E. Krout, professor of music therapy in Meadows School of the Arts, developing evidence-based treatment techniques, music therapy education joined the SMU faculty in 2004. He earned a B.M. in vocal music education and training, and music therapy in end-of-life hospice and palliative care at Ithaca College, followed by three degrees from Columbia University: M.A. and bereavement. He received the SMU Altshuler Distinguished Teaching in music therapy, M.Ed. in special education and D.Ed. in music education Professor Award, “M” Award, University Scholar/Teacher of the Year Award with a focus on music therapy and technology.
