Welcome to the 2020 Festival of Trees. Thank you for acknowledging and adhering to the following guidelines. They make it possible for us to bring you comfort and joy this holiday season! The festival has a limited capacity so that we are maintaining social distancing at all times. You have purchased a ticket with a timed entry (you can locate this note on your ticket). We appreciate you arriving at your designated time. In accordance with the statewide mask mandate, we REQUIRE patrons and guests to wear a mask, face covering, or face shield while they are inside the Embassy Theatre (covering mouth AND nose). Patrons are asked to assess their health before arriving and stay home if ill or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Ask yourself: Do you have a new or persistent cough? Do you have shortness of breath? Do you have a fever of ≥ 100 degrees?

We ask that you refrain from congregating in restrooms or any common areas. Please keep the line moving. There are designated locations for photo opportunities with your family. Please follow all one-way traffic patterns. We have gone paperless and touchless whenever possible. Our team will maintain a rigorous cleaning and sanitizing schedule. Individuals 65 years of age and older or those in high- risk categories are encouraged to not attend the festival. Any patrons who arrive at the Embassy ill or displaying symptoms of COVID-19 will be sent home. The Embassy has thorough protocols and staff training in place to reduce exposure to COVID-19. Please be kind to our team when they gently remind patrons of the guidelines we must follow. While the Embassy works hard to reduce exposure to COVID-19, the public is assuming the inherent risk of possible exposure.

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT & CEO Kelly Updike This year marks the 36th year of the Festival of Trees. And, boy, what a year we have all had. Once the pandemic started impacting the Embassy’s ability to host events in our historically beautiful space, we started brainstorming how we COULD still bring the festival to our community, even if it looked different. Our team was determined. We wanted to offer some healing and tradition especially during a year when vacations were canceled and many family celebrations were interrupted, changed or postponed. People started asking us if we were going to cancel the festival for the first time in three and a half decades. Many assumed we would. However, the Embassy is about perseverance. We rolled up our sleeves and survived the wrecking ball back in the ‘70s because of the support of this community. People like you have kept us going strong for 92 years. We knew we needed to host the beloved festival as a way of saying thank you during a rough year.

A S K M

R D E E Q U I R EMBASSYFESTIVALOFTREES

The impact of the pandemic has been severe. That is why the importance of fundraising is critical to the ongoing health of our organization. We launched the Raise the Curtain campaign in the spring. Our goal is to raise $2M to help us recover lost revenue from the COVID-19 pandemic. No gift is too small. We have many options for giving. Membership. A monthly giving option. Annual gifts. And, simply buying tickets to our events makes a big difference. Every $10 or $5 ticket to this festival is important.

Festival of Trees remains our biggest fundraiser. Thank you to the thousands of people in the community who make it possible including sponsors, donors, decorators, volunteers, staff and the board of directors. This event often represents the start of the holiday season. I hope that the Embassy can truly – as this year’s festival theme implies – bring you great comfort and joy. We look forward to seeing you in 2021. Be safe. Stay healthy.

PRESIDENT AND CEO
