Day 2 | Monday 10 February 2020 - Lima to Cusco and the Sacred Valley Breakfast in your hotel and transfer to Lima airport Flight from Lima to Cusco: LA2123 - 09:07-10:34 Transfer from Cusco to Chinchero, one of the most important towns in the , located on a terrace around 3,500 metres above sea level in the mesmerising Andes, framed by the calm snow- capped beauty of the Chicón and Verónica mountains. Participate in a textile workshop and attend a private demonstration by weavers from neighbouring towns to learn the manufacturing process and see the final garments. Each garment is truly unique creation that is the result of meticulous work. The local techniques are ancient and institutions like the Centre providing the demonstration are committed to their preservation for future generations. Natural features and landscapes, such as mountains, stars and rivers, are depicted in opaque colours obtained exclusively from natural dyes. The wool is carded, spun and dyed to create ponchos, belts and shawls. Day 3 | Tuesday 11 February 2019 - Machu Picchu Transfer from your hotel to Ollantaytambo train station for the Vistadome train to Machu Picchu Your tour to Machu Picchu begins with a train ride to Aguas Calientes that takes just under two hours. This town with its crafts market and many restaurants is also known as "Machu Picchu Pueblo" and is the last stop before the entrance to the most important archaeological site in Peru. After a short shuttle bus transfer, you’ll reach Machu Picchu, a masterpiece of engineering and architecture that is believed to have served as a sanctuary and retreat for the Inca Ruler Pachacutec (1438 - 1471). Machu Picchu, which means "Old Mountain", is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered to be one of the new seven wonders of the world. Day 4 | Wednesday 12 February 2020 - Sacred Valley to Cusco and Lima Breakfast in your hotel Transfer from Ollantaytambo to visit the in Cusco A transfer service will take you from your hotel in the Sacred Valley to the city of Cusco, where you’ll start your tour with a visit to the Coricancha or "Temple of the Sun" (Quri Kancha or 'Golden Temple'), built by command of the Inca Ruler Pachacutec (1438 - 1471). The Coricancha was largely destroyed by the Spanish , who used it as the foundations for the Santo Domingo Convent. During the Inca Empire, the Sun God "" was worshiped here and its walls were covered in sheets of gold. Transfer from Coricancha to Cusco Cathedral You’ll then visit the Cathedral, the most imposing monument in the Plaza de Armas. This tour is not suitable for guests using a wheelchair or for guests with mobility problems. The tour to Machu Picchu takes you from sea level to an altitude of 11,200 feet (3,400 m), which may cause some guests to experience altitude sickness. Touring the ruins of Machu Picchu requires you to climb many stairs, walking over uneven and rugged terrain in thin air. Guests with heart conditions and/or known respiratory difficulties should consult their physician prior to booking this tour. It is essential to provide up-to-date information (full name, date of birth, nationality and passport number) for every passenger travelling to Peru, which must match the valid passport used for the trip. The current restrictions on visits to Machu Picchu provide for a maximum stay of 4 hours in the citadel accompanied by a guide during the first entry.

HIGH ALTITUDES Your excursion to Cusco and Machu Picchu will take you to an altitude of 13,300 feet (3,400 m). Altitude sickness can affect anyone. When planning an overland excursion, make sure you receive a full medical check-up prior to embarkation. Ask your physician or a doctor specializing in travel medicine about measures to prevent or alleviate altitude sickness. While at high elevations, eat light and avoid consuming alcoholic beverages. Maximum altitude during train journey: 9,200 feet (2,804 m) Cusco: 11,200 feet (3,400 m) Machu Picchu: 8,000 feet (2,430 m)

Luggage Please restrict your luggage to one carry-on bag per person (8kg), or one suitcase for two people. You can take one carry-on bag with you,It must be light enough that you can place it in the overhead compartment. The maximum weight is 8 kilos (17 lb) .The maximum dimensions are 21 in (55 cm) x 13 in (35 cm) x 9 in (25 cm) (height, depth and width), including the pockets, wheels and handle. Checked bag up to 23kg, maximum permitted weight per bag 158 linear cms. On all train services to Machu Picchu, passengers may only carry hand luggage (backpack, handbag or briefcase) with a maximum weight of 5 kg / 11 lb. You will find your luggage at your hotel. Packing list: Comfortable and light clothes are the most convenient choice for traveling, while warmer clothes are best for stays in the highlands. Passengers must not wear sleeveless T-shirts, shorts, miniskirts or

very tight clothes when visiting temples, religious places or official buildings. We recommend that all guests fill their reusable bottles before leaving their hotels. Take a small backpack for personal items, comfortable shoes for walking, a rain poncho, hat or cap, sunglasses, sunblock, insect repellent, comfortable clothes, pairs of socks, a camera and any medicines you may require. Purchases Many vendors in Cusco and Machu Picchu accept U.S. currency. We recommend that you carry small amounts of local currency for small purchases. You can exchange currency at your hotel. Changing travellers’ cheques requires a passport and incurs a significant fee. Hotels accept payment in U.S. dollars and credit cards. Currency and denominations The official currency of Perú is the Nuevo Sol (S/.), which is divided into 100 cents. Coins in the following denominations are in circulation: 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents, as well as 1, 2 and 5 Nuevos Soles. Banknotes come in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 Nuevos Soles.
