L1 BOBBYGINALS 429 8 September 2013 Arnold Rypens L1 BOBBYGINALS 429 8 september 2013 Arnold Rypens - Kirsten 3:00 1 I Got The Same Old Blues (Cale) Mercury J.J. Zoals deze It's My Life Baby voor Duke in 1955. 2:43 2 It's My Life, Baby (Robey/Washington) Duke BOBBY BLAND A6 Gecoverd van Junior Wells tot Johnny Winter deze It's My Life, Baby van Bobby Bland, leven dat we in twee afleveringen Originals gaan trachten samen te vatten. I Smell Trouble en You Got Me (Where You Want Me) zijn daarom twee toepasselijke titels uit datzelfde jaar. Lijfeigenen zowaar. Rihanna), daarvoor Lavelle White's Lead Me On. Met titels als If Loving You Is Wrong (I Don't Want To Be Right) kan je als soul- gospel-blues-icoon natuurlijk aardig wat effect sorteren. It's Not The Spotlight stond daarop. 4:24 11 It's Not The Spotlight (Goffin/Goldberg) Adelphi GERRY GOFFIN L64 8 Gerry Goffin in de Muscle Shoals Sound studio in 1972, It's Not The Spotlight, nummer dat hij schreef met Barry Goldberg. I've Got To Use My) Imagination. 12 (I've Got To Use My) Imagination (Goldberg) cass Atco BARRY GOLDBERG B757 13 Gone For Good (Malone) 33 BackBeat O.V. WRIGHT A7 Nog altijd Bobby Blue Bland-tijd in The Originals en nog altijd met stuff uit diens California Album centraal: na Imagination van en door Barry Goldberg, Gone For Good van O.V. Wright oorspronkelijk. Ik Haat Je, of liever: I try to hate you right out of my mind. 2:26 14 I Hate You (Penn/Daniels) Repertoire DAN PENN 7 15 That Did It (Woods) Masterworks TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND Susan Tedeschi & Derek Trucks in That Did It, vorig jaar pas opgenomen of hoe ook de 'jonge garde' inspiratie blijft putten uit de vertolkingen van Bobby Bland, de enige bluesman die qua chartsucces B.B. EINDAFK. Volgende week weer van dat. 3:04 16 Mean Old World (Broonzy) ARC BIG BILL BROONZY L80 17 Body And Soul (Green) CARROLL CHANNING .

  • Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry
ROLL OF THUNDER HEAR MY CRY MILDRED D. TAYLOR NEWBERY MEDAL WINNER Author's Note My father was a master storyteller. He could tell a fine old story that made me hold my sides with rolling laughter and sent happy tears down my cheeks, or a story of stark reality that made me shiver and be grateful for my own warm, secure surroundings. He could tell stories of beauty and grace, stories of gentle dreams, and paint them as vividly as any picture with splashes of character and dialogue. His memory detailed every event of ten or forty years or more before, just as if it had happened yesterday. By the fireside in our northern home or in the South where I was born, I learned a history not then written in books but one passed from generation to generation on the steps of moonlit porches and beside dying fires in one-room houses, a history of great-grandparents and of slavery and of the days following slavery: of those who lived still not free, yet who would not let their spirits be enslaved. From my father the storyteller I learned to respect the past, to respect my own heritage and myself. From my father the man I learned even more, for he was endowed with a special grace that made him tower above other men. He was warm and steadfast, a man whose principles would not bend, and he had within him a rare strength that sustained not only my sister and me and all the family but all those who sought his advice and leaned upon his wisdom.

  • Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble 2015.Pdf
Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble By Robert Santelli The guitar slinger and his band brought the blues back to rock & roll. HAD STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN NOT SUDDENLY SURFACED in the early 1980s, guitar in hand and a nearly uncontrollable urge to play it, then the blues might have willed him into existence. These, after all, weren’t the best times for the blues, which had been the bedrock of all American music for nearly a century. ^ MTV was making pop mu sic more physical and visual: Think Michael Jackson and Madonna. Most of mainstream rock was all about big sound, arena shows, and elaborate stage sets. And new wave, though it rebelled against rock’s more ornate sounds and superstar mindset, was as style-conscious as it was interested in a simpler approach to making records. ’I The blues connected to none of this. The 1960s had been the music’s last golden age, a time when masters like Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, and B. B. King played to eager young rock audiences fascinated by its emotional power, and guitar kingpins like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Duane Allman, Johnny Winter, Carlos Santana, and Mike Bloomfield - a member of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band - collectively created a new hybrid: blues rock. P® From blues rock came heavy metal and the likes of Led Zeppelin. But in the 1970s, rock also became increasingly diversified, with other new sounds and styles run ning rampant. It got crowded, with glam, country rock, Southern rock, singer-songwriters, funk, punk, reggae, and disco Stevie Ray Vaughan’s name would be added to this all competing for attention and fans.
