Administrative history: Since its inception, the Royal Winnipeg Rifles (RWpgRif) Regimental Museum (ca.1974) received gifts and donations of books, manuals, and periodicals. These titles remained in storage until 2016/17, after which they were formally catalogued according to the Library of Congress (LC) classification system as part of the RWpgRif’s 2016-18 Regimental Museum Renewal Programme. Items were copied catalogued from the following on-line catalogues: the Canadian Museum (), the Library and Archives (Ottawa), The Museums Library (TMM, University of ), and WorldCat.org.

Scope and content: The RWpgRif library collection consists of books, manuals and periodicals donated by a variety of sources which have been compiled as a collection. Catalogue subjects include military conflict periods (North-West Rebellion, Boer War, First World War, and Second World War); technical manuals used by the ; and reference materials pertaining to uniforms, insignias, and weaponry. Rare book titles include personal narratives, unit histories, books with limited print runs, and
