SERENITY AT SUNRISE/SUNSET MEETING FORMAT Good morning/evening. Welcome to the SERENITY AT SUNRISE/SUNSET meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. My name is _________ and I am an alcoholic. At this time would you please help me open this meeting with a moment of silence followed by the Serenity Prayer. God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. This is a closed meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. In support of AA's singleness of purpose, attendance at closed meetings is limited to persons who have a desire to stop drinking. If you have a problem with alcohol you are welcome to attend, but we ask that when discussing your problems you confine yourself to those problems as they relate to alcoholism. In the online meeting, it is important that you keep your microphone muted when not sharing and you avoid having non-AA’s in your immediate vicinity. You may have your ONLINE device’s camera on or off as you choose; but if it is on, please dress and behave appropriately so as not to cause distractions. And for your own safety, please don’t share READ while driving. READ Our In-person meetings are tenants of the church; the Daily Key-holder is IN-PERSON responsible for following their Covid guidelines; a copy is in the meeting book Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership. We are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our Primary Purpose Is To Stay Sober And To Help Other Alcoholics To Achieve Sobriety. Are there any newcomers here with less than 30 days of sobriety who would like to introduce themselves by first name only so we may get to know you better? NE Dial-In callers who did not input an Audio PIN, please confirm you are ONLI member of AA, or identify yourselves so we can put your first name on the screen. (If Dial-Ins arrive during the meeting, repeat this request at Announcements.) READ READ Are there any out-of-town visitors who would like to introduce themselves? Page 1 of 3 SaS_Concurrent-Meeting_Format_05Jun21.docx I have asked _____ to pass out chips (1mo, 2mo, 3mo, 6mo, 9mo, 1yr, Anniversaries?). I have asked _____ to read today’s selection from the Daily Reflections. Lead: My name is ______and I am an Alcoholic. (Lead shares for 5 minutes or less) Please confine your sharing to alcoholism as it relates to today’s topic, emphasizing if possible the solution. Please limit yourself to 3 minutes so that all who wish to share can do so, and out of respect for fellow members, avoid cross talk and side conversations when someone is sharing. The meeting is now open for sharing as the spirit moves you. (At 7:00am/6:30pm we ask for AA announcements.) Seventh Tradition contributions can be made in the basket at the In-person meeting, by mailing a check made out to 'Serenity at Sunrise' to our Treasurer, or on our website SaSPrescott.org which also has Group information. Area A.A. information can also be found by visiting PrescottAA.org. The meeting is now open again for sharing. At 7:30 we say The Responsibility Declaration together: “When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help I want the hand of AA to always be there, and for that I am responsible.” Close the meeting with a prayer of your choice§ or request a fellow member to do so. §: By established Serenity at Sunrise practice, the person closing the meeting does so with any one of these prayers: ▪ The Serenity Prayer (A.A. Ted’s Prayer The Prayer of St. Francis You are a child of the universe, Lord, make me an instrument of your peace, no less than the trees and the stars; Where there is hatred, let me sow love; you have the right to be here. Where there is injury, pardon; And whether or not it is clear to you, Where there is doubt, faith; no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Where there is despair, hope; Therefore be at peace with God, Where there is darkness, light; whatever you conceive Him to be. Where there is sadness, joy; O Divine Master, Grant that I may not so much seek To be consoled as to console; To be understood as to understand; To be loved as to love. Third Step Prayer For it is in giving that we receive; God, I offer myself to Thee - To build with me and It is in pardoning that we are pardoned; to do with me as Thou wilt. And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties, that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always! Page 3 of 3 .
