In order to use the readline module it must be first imported. readline= imports.readline; readline.readline (prompt) Prompts for one line of input on standard input using prompt as the prompt. prompt A string to use as the readline prompt Returns A string entered on standard input. readline.bind (key, function) Binds key to function causing the function to be invokved when- ever key is pressed key A string specifying the key to bind function The function to invoke when key is pressed readline.done () Indicates that readline should finish the current line, and return from readline- .readline. Can be used in callbacks to implement features like multiline editing readline.buffer() Retrieve the current readline buffer Returns The current readline buffer readline.insert (string) Inserts string in to the current readline buffer string The string to insert 1.2 Examples Below are several examples of using the Seed readline module. Worst Weeds of the Gorge
Worst Weeds of the Gorge A Guide for Early Detection and Rapid Response in the Columbia River Gorge Intro Introduction to Early Detection and Rapid Response Early Detection and Rapid Response (EDRR) is an approach to invasive species management that focuses on surveying Intro and monitoring areas to find and treat infestations at their earliest stages of invasion. Once a targeted species is found, control measures are implemented rapidly to prevent estab- lishment and spread. After prevention, EDRR is the most successful, cost effective, and least environmentally damag- ing means of invasive species control. This EDRR weed identification guide was developed to aid in identifying, detecting and reporting the weeds that have been given priority for early detection and rapid response in the Columbia River Gorge. Thank you in advance for your commitment to keeping invasive weeds out of our region. Watch for weeds, but don’t spread ‘em: Take care not to spread invasive plant seeds and materials as you hike, bike, or boat! Brush off your boots, bike, and dog before and after using the trail or natural area. If you get in water, clean and Columbia Gorge dry your boat and gear before going to a new place. Look Cooperative Weed Management Area for boot brushes like this one at trailheads throughout the Gorge. Partners from over twenty private, non-profit, local, state, and federal organizations make up the Columbia Gorge Cooperative Weed Management Area (CG-CWMA). The CWMA provides a means to effectively coordinate actions to address invasive weeds on lands within its jurisdiction. Because weeds readily cross management boundaries, it is in each party’s interest to coordinate efforts to accomplish effective, integrated invasive weed management. -

The Double in Late Nineteenth-Century Italian Literature: Readings in Fogazzaro and His Contemporaries
The Double in Late Nineteenth-Century Italian Literature: Readings in Fogazzaro and His Contemporaries Samuel Fleck Submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY 2017 © 2017 Samuel Fleck All rights reserved ABSTRACT The Double in Late Nineteenth-Century Italian Literature: Readings in Fogazzaro and His Contemporaries Samuel Fleck This dissertation is organized around main axes: the literary and critical concept of the Double and the analysis of Antonio Fogazzaro’s 1881 novel, Malombra, in which the Double plays a complex thematic role. In the first chapter, I address the concept of the Double as a critical category, assessing its meaning across three different levels of reality: in terms of the cultural specificity of the representation (the nineteenth century and Romantic literature), in terms of the theoretical approach (whether it is construed as a transcendental figure, as in Freudian theory, or a transgressive figure, as in Jungian theory, etc.) and in terms of its placement relative to the other themes in the text. In the second chapter, I take up the analysis of three Italian texts from the second half of the nineteenth century which privilege the theme of the Double and invest it with idiosyncratic meaning: Uno spirito in un lampone by Iginio Ugo Tarchetti (1867), Due anime in un corpo by Emilio de Marchi (1877) and Le storie del castello di Trezza by Giovanni Verga (1875). My reading of these texts draws on diverse psychoanalytic perspectives, namely those of Jung, Lacan and Abraham and Torok. -
