On July 1, 1996, Jazz at Lincoln Center became an independent non-profit organization, establishing a prominent place for jazz alongside the opera, ballet, symphony, and other fine arts at Lincoln Center.

Jazz at Lincoln Center has strived to joyously perform and produce music, to educate, and to gather people worldwide around jazz. This special 25th Anniversary Season presents us with a timely opportunity to honor our history and traditions, and to celebrate long term Jazz at Lincoln Center supporters and board members even as we create the moments of the future.

Our newest visual art exhibit, Jazz at Lincoln Center: 25 Years of Celebrating America’s Music, documents JALC’s origins and growth in commemoration of our 25th anniversary in 2012 –13.
