SUDBROOKENEWS FEBRUARY 2020 REFERENDUM THURSDAY 13 FEBRUARY

THE FATE OF SUDBROOKE’S FUTURE IS IN YOUR HANDS. HOW WILL YOU VOTE ON THE NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN? ALSO INSIDE: Parish Council Notes, p4-11 and p14-15 2 http://parishes.lincolnshire.gov.uk/Sudbrooke/ February 2020 EDITOR’S RAMBLINGS FEBRUARY 2020 DISGUSTING. That was the word a disgruntled reader called my front page of Sudbrooke News for the December/January edition. But what heinous crime had I committed, I hear some of you ask.... well, believe it or not, the logos I had used on there to represent the parties standing in the General Election for the Gainsborough constituency, were not equally the same size as each other, and that constituted the crime of the century. After criticising the fact I had led on one of the biggest news events of the year, she then hit out at some perceived bias of my mine to give favour to certain parties over the others by way of reducing the sizes of a couple of the images. You really could not make this up. I didn’t know whether to laugh or laugh. No doubt I’ll be getting another angry call now... Anyway, this is a bumper Parish Council notes edition, Terry Mayo is rafting in Central Europe and oh yes, don’t forget to vote in the Sudbrooke Referendum. Smiley smile. www.pawsitive-pet-sitting.co.uk February 2020 http://parishes.lincolnshire.gov.uk/Sudbrooke/ 3 SUDBROOKE REFERENDUM Dear Resident of Sudbrooke... Welcome to the third decade of the the third Millennium or in shorter terms, ‘Happy New Year’. The Parish Council wish you all the very best for the future. To try to help with that future your Parish Council and group of volunteers created a Neighbourhood Plan to guide the village through the next 25 years. On February 13 you will have the opportunity to vote on this long-awaited document. WHAT IS THE NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN? It is a review of Sudbrooke in terms of housing, environment, historical significance and finally heritage. It also has a series of policies for how you want the village to develop over that period. We are defined as a medium village so the development potential for new housing is constrained within that definition and clarified by the neighbourhood plan. It is your wishlist for housing, schools, medical services and busi- ness. It has to be put to a referendum and for it to be approved it needs only a simple majority. Without that approval then the plan is dead and development in Sudbrooke will be controlled by the wider policies of the Central Lincolnshire plan. The Parish Council hope that you will take the time to look at the plan and that you will support it with your vote. There are copies of this on-line, at the Village Hall, library, and I have a copy if need be.
