• For U SPORTS participation you must be registered as a student-athlete on the U SPORTS Central portal.

• For U SPORTS you are allowed 5 years of participation • For OUA only sports you are allowed unlimited years of participation • In order to compete you must be enrolled in 3 or more courses during the time that you compete (tracked weekly) • In order to continue to compete, you must pass a minimum of 6 courses (18 credit hours) per academic year (Sept 1 through Aug 31) • If you transfer from/to another degree granting institution you must sit out for one year* * Unless you are transferring to complete a Masters degree (one-time exception / Education excluded) Student-Athlete Eligibility Rules

• The participates in the drug education and testing programs of U SPORTS and CCES (Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport) • You must commit to drug free sport, and agree to not consume performance enhancing drugs (PED) • Prior to competing you must complete a U SPORTS on line drug education course... and attend a mandatory department- sponsored Drug & Alcohol Education Seminar • Cannabis is still a restricted substance!!! https://cces.ca/cannabis Student-Athlete Eligibility Rules

• The University of Windsor supports the recommendations of both U SPORTS and CCES that athletes should refrain from use of over the counter supplements in order to avoid a potential inadvertent positive test for PED • When you sign your U SPORTS eligibility forms you are consenting to random unannounced testing for performance enhancing drugs (PED) for an 18 month period. • Note: Participation in as few as 3 non conference / exhibition events equals one year of eligibility consumed • Note: Participation in 1 conference or playoff game equals one year of eligibility consumed • If your name appears on the game sheet… then you were a participant in that game… you do not have to enter the contest to consume eligibility! • We have an annual year end celebration, the “Lancers Evening of Excellence”, to be held: Tuesday, March 31, 2020 @ St. Clair Centre for the Arts • Two of you will be named University of Windsor Rookie of the Year (1 male / 1 female) Things you need know... Rookie Parties / Hazing The Department of Athletics and Recreational Services requires that: • No activity of a lewd, profane or dehumanizing nature is tolerated. • All public behaviour must be within the bounds of human dignity and should not cause any embarrassment to the individuals involved, the team, the Department or the University. • There is no physical or mental punishment or “dare activities” (such as shaving heads or other body areas, excessive drinking, public parading of participants or other such activities).

This is a very serious issue and measures will be taken against those who do not follow the guidelines. Failure to comply may result in suspension (expulsion) from the team. If you have any questions as to whether an activity is appropriate please consult Mike Havey, Athletic Director.

When you visit the site you will be required to….

1. Review the educational slide deck, and 2. Successfully compete a short quiz.

You will have a maximum of three attempts to pass the quiz. Your successful quiz completion will be tracked by ARS.
