We've fixedup and renovated a few of the" rooms" in our "house" in time foryour visit to your old college haunts. I If you haven't been here in the past five years, you'll notice several new facilities and that some of the familiarbuildings have had"facelifts." Be sure to join one of the campus tours and visit the Gary M. Owen Building in downtown Ypsilanti, and the Corporate Education Center and Huron Golf Club just off I-94. On campus, you'll want to check out the renovations ro Welch Hall and visit Sherzer Hall, now beautifully restored. And stop by McKenny Union, now being remodeled to a student-oriented center. If you haven't been here forthe last ten years, you'll want to visit the Lloyd W. Olds Student Recreation Center with its spacious pools, indoor jogging track, and health club atmosphere. At the Quirk Dramatic Arts Building, you will notice many changes, including the addition of tbe Sponberg Theatre. George G. Beaudette Another addition to campus is the Coatings Research Institute. Homecoming is the customary time for alumni to come back to campus and reunite with their schoolmates and professors. It also is the time to rekindle the school spirit and pride you have in your University. Often, when we graduate, we forget what Eastern Michigan gave us. We forget that our accomplishments now are built on what we learned while we were in school. Giving something back to your University doesn't always mean donating money; it also can mean supporting the institution by attending the games and cheering for the home team, by talking about Eastern to prospective students, and by spreading the word that Eastern Michigan is a first-class institution. Over the years, Eastern Michigan has made a commitment to restoring existing campus buildings. While the interiors may have changed and the purpose of the structures may be different, returning alumni will still sense the atmosphere of Michigan State Normal College. Not only are we making a commitment to athletics, as evidenced in rhe renovation of Rynearson Stadium, we also are making a commitment to academics by refurbishing Pease Auditorium, restoring Sherzer Hall, and creating a beautiful, "pedestrian-oriented" home for students. We are making a commitment ro the coral Universiry. Come home for a visit. We're looking forward to seeing you. George G.
