SOS Children’s Villages is the world’s largest non-governmental, non-profi t child welfare organization. It has existed for over 60 years with presence in 132 nations. British Columbia is home to the only SOS Children’s Village in and it is an organization that we are proud to be a part of every day.

This year, SOS BC celebrated our 25th Anniversary in British Columbia with a community event held in a park in collaboration with Semiahmoo First Nations. It was a great evening with live entertainment and our very own special guest, SOS International President Mr. Helmut Kutin who was visiting our beautiful province for the very fi rst time. Nicole Minions Executive Director In 2011, SOS Children’s Village BC worked directly with over 100 children which included over 1500 program sessions in the Fraser Valley. We patted ourselves on the back for completing the fi rst pilot year of the Sounds of Music Learning program. The fi nal result being the recording of the infamous CD entitled Listen, with songs written and created by participating children.

SOS BC exists in this province to provide support services and enhancements to those that are currently available to vulnerable families. With over 9,200 children in foster care there is a great need for accessible and affordable programming for children and youth. Also, there is a need for additional advocacy on the challenges and current realities that BC families are facing. We are committed to Reinhart Aulinger provide healing, hope and home to local children and youth in need through our Chairman of the Board programming.
